About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live in such a way that every grain of sand that flows through my life's hourglass, is a grain of sand well spent.

ABOUT ME

Fun loving for the most part. A bit serious at times. Love guests. Truly enjoy meeting people from all over the world and loves to travel. Abroad or within the borders of my own country.

Haven't had that much world-traveling experience, but every single place I went to had some special appeal for me. When traveling I set myself one goal to achieve and only one. That way you have freedom of movement and never return from a journey disappointed. I would enjoy a cheap dinner in a local restaurant far more than an expensive one in a place where celebrities hang out.

I love debating, that way you can see the holes in your own reasoning. Again why I prefer meeting local people. You get to hear the true, local, inside stories.

I do read from time to time, mostly history novels. I love movies, takes my mind off work. I do enjoy sandboarding, but will not call myself professional.

I absolutely love every square meter of my own country. Fell in love with it years ago and, even with all the problems and mistakes within my own country, will not change it for anything in the world.

I love nature! When I need to "repair" myself I head out to Harnas. There is nothing in the world that can get me back to an emosional high as easily as the sound of a lions roar as you go to sleep (provided there is an electrical fence between us). There is nothing as calming as being out in Nature. I love the ocean, love living next to it (would have preferred having its water warm and tropical though). I love the dunes I love the sand, I love the distant sound of Angolan drums when sitting next to the Kavango river. I am at my happiest when my own actions can make another person smile and I get raving mad when another person's selfish actions hurt the ones around them.

PHILOSOPHY

We were put on this planet for a single journey. We do not, nor will we ever have another oportunity at life. When my candle flickers for the last time, I want to be able to look back at life and smile. I want to say: "now that was fun". I want to die in peace knowing that I tried my best to be there for every one that might need me. I want to be greatfull for every smile I put on somebody else's face. And, even though I will probably not visit all corners of this beautiful planet, I want to try and re-visit every friend I made along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have joined the team quite recently, but was extremely fortunate in hosting the best ever guests so far. I love my country and hope to show every single visitor something unique and different from the usual. Hopefully in the very near future I will use this platform to meet even more people on my travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had the best couchsurfing experiences so far. My first surfer was the most fabulous person I have ever met and with her she just brought good luck, because from there on out I have met the most excelent people ever. Can not wait for my first surfing experience and the great people I will be able to meet during my future travels.

Interests

I love sandboarding. I love beach-volleyball (not playing at the moment but, if I can get a playing partner, I will start again this afternoon). I love camping, do so whenever I can. I love traveling (I am not a tree, I am a rolling stone, do not enjoy the growth of moss around me). I grew up with the rave and trance movement and have still got the hunger for a good party. I find world history to be extremely interesting and prefer looking at things more objectively. I live for good music! Any music, be it Clasical music, Metal, Trance, Blues, Samba, African, Cuban, Angolan, old, new, if it is good I want it! I love absailing, I like my compound bow and do target practice every once in a while. Sometimes I like fishing, but will do so only with the right company. Enjoy being around my family and friends and would travel half way around the world if I start missing them.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music. I should probably list the ones I do not like(the list will be much shorter). I love all music that was thought through. From Pink Floyd to Bob Marley. From Tool to Ali Farka Toure. From Tzaikovski to Infected Mushroom.

Books. Depends. Sometimes a ficional novel takes up my time and at other times I like historic novels, biographies and historic research.
