About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To laugh, cry & see the world. All with a cup of tea & a willing accomplice.

ABOUT ME

I am an Architectural Technician working in Tameside & living in Manchester. I split my time between working, socialising with friends old & new and enjoying all things sporting.

I like to travel at a steady pace. I enjoy sitting in a busy capital city or a quiet rural village with a beer, tea or coffee and watching the world go by around me.

My most recent travels have taken me to Northern France, Southern Spain & Turkey within the last year or so. I'm keen to see as much of Europe as I can before spreading my wings and exploring the rest of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is there to be enjoyed. Too many people rush around worrying about tomorrow. Just put the kettle on, have a cup of tea, then go and enjoy yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have no travel plans at the moment so my couch is available. I love to meet new people from around the world and learn about their varying cultures - particularly the food! I don't claim to be a great cook but it is something I really enjoy, so I'd be more than happy to cook for my guests!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to the CouchSurfing party, but my Mum brought me up well enough to be a good host & considerate guest.

Interests

Interests never sound as interesting in a list as in conversation! However I'll give it a go; I love music, at the moment a lot of soul, ska & reggae, though this does tend to change.
History is another great interest of mine, I find it fascinating to read or hear about how people & places have changed and developed over the years.
My real passion however is sport. I love to watch, read about & participate in all sorts of sport whilst also trying to keep fit!

Music, Movies, and Books

Most of the books and movies I enjoy relate to my interest in history. My movies are often historical war films or 1960's dramas, whilst my books are either Dickens novels or factual history books.
My music collection contains all sorts including soul, ska, reggae, rock, indie & R&B. I'll listening to anything as long as it's good, and preferably live!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A tough question. A recent example would be the Alhambra in Granada. An astounding example of Moorish architecture.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm no teacher, but I could talk for hours about my town & city and the people I love.
I'm keen to learn about other people, other cultures & other countries. In particular I want to learn a foreign language Currently in favour is German, though this changes on a regular basis!
I'm always willing to share a cup of tea & a few biscuits in exchange for an interesting story.
