Working on an engineering degree right now. I'm an active guy, I'm pretty well traveled already and I've been to lots of cool places. I'm pretty easy going, not too hard to please. I like to live a carefree lifestyle and surround myself with awesome people and I'm always up for trying new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because traveling is all about the people you share the experiences with. Through couchsurfing I've managed to meet a ton of really incredible, fun and interesting people all over the world. I've had the pleasure of hosting quite a few couchsurfers in my home as well. Couchsurfing is just an awesome way of meeting new people. I have had nothing but awesome experiences so far!

Interests

I love the outdoors! I ski, play soccer, hockey, skateboard, and bike. I like going on hikes and am lucky enough to have dozens of beautiful ones right in my backyard. I'm also a gamer, pretty into cars, and love taking pictures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Like most people, I'm kind of all over the place. Rage Against the Machine, The Rolling Stones, The Bee Gees, Jack Johnson, Neil Young, Mac Miller, Fleetwood Mac, Kendrick Lamar, Tame Impala.... the list goes on.

I'm a big fantasy reader and have read stuff like The Wheel of Time, Game of Thrones and David Gemmell. Lately I've also been reading more fiction such a Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan and Elon Musk's biography.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent the summer of 2016 living and working in Iceland. I worked at the Svartsengi Power Station right beside the Blue Lagoon. I bought a car for $500 right when I got there and then drove it over ten thousand kilometers all over the country. I would post events on couchsurfing every weekend to find people to travel with and so every weekend I had new friends to explore Iceland with. My Icelandic friends told me that by the end of the summer I had seen more of Iceland than the majority of Icelanders.

Some notable experiences include seeing the northern lights, standing on the edge of 500m tall sea cliffs, going to a music festival on a volcanic island and many, many more. I'd be more than happy to share stories and photographs of my time in Iceland.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm studying Mechatronic Systems Engineering currently so I would be more than happy to nerd out about various engineering related topics. I'm also an amateur photographer and so I have to plenty to share about that. I find one of the best ways to learn and grow is to travel. You never really know what you have until you see how things are elsewhere. It's invaluable to expand your horizons and traveling is an incredible way to do so.
