About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet as many people and to travel far and wide...

ABOUT ME

After living most of my life in the North West, I now live in Cheltenham, SW England. I first got the travelling bug a few Summers ago when I went travelling around Europe for two months. I've been hooked ever since!

PHILOSOPHY

Live every second!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been lurking on this site for a few years. I've finally decided to start getting involved properly. My couch is available in Cheltenham if you need a place to stay.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been heading to the couch surfing meets in Cheltenham for the last few months. Had some great fun and have met some lovely folks.

Interests

One of of my primary interests is music, I've put more detail on this below.

Another is food. I love to good eat food. I love to cook good food. I can cook a mean pizza! I have recently been trying to eat a lot less meat, and although I've not gone completely vegetarian I am enjoying learning to cook new dishes and play with new ingredients, as well as of course eating new things. I also have a love of beer (and a little cider too). I have been loving the resurgence in beer that the UK has been seeing the last few years. I am particularly fond of a good hoppy American style IPA.

Finally I am a keen runner. This is kind of necessary due to my massive love of beer and food. I ran my first marathon back in the start of the year, and will soon be starting to train for my second in the new year.

Music, Movies, and Books

Barely an hour goes by without a soundtrack to whatever I'm doing. I have a very varied taste in music, there's very few things that I won't listen too. Some of my favorite albums of 2013 include: Public Service Broadcasting, James Blake, Major Lazer and Django Django (the latter was 2012 but shhhhh!). Unfortunately don't make any music of my own or play any instruments, but that is something I'd like to change.
As with music, I have quite an open mind regarding films. I am just as happy watching a big blockbuster or a subtitled foreign film. I subscribe to a rental by post service (think netflix if you're from the US) and the list currently stands at 200 films and is always growing, never shrinking!
As far as books go I don't read anywhere near enough. I have been reading a fair bit about the downfall of Yugoslavia recently after a trip to Serbia. I also enjoy reading bits of fiction when I get the chance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things that I have done was paragliding off a mountain in Interlaken, Switzerland. It was so exhilarating and the view was amazing. I would like to do more of the same, maybe skydiving next time!

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're lucky I may show you how to cook something traditionally English (it will be good I promise).

I always like to learn new things, so hopefully you can teach me something!

As for sharing, maybe I'll share one of my favorite beers (quite a special treat).

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
