CURRENT MISSION
Exploring new and lumpy vegetables
ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Chris. I'm a restless scientist cartoonist activist traveller, though I don't do as much of any of these things as I'd like. I live in a lovely big house in south Manchester with a warm kitchen, lovely people and tasty cookery.
By day I try and persuade computers to think about the weather for me (I'm researching a type of storm called polar lows) and in my spare time I'll draw what's going on around me and the words coming out of people's mouths, and I cook and I become upset about climate change and social justice.
I'm a big fan of travelling and I've had wonderful adventures, much of it thanks to you guys on Couchsurfing. The people I meet while travelling show me the important things in cities, the exciting and new things, the community things, the singing and dancing things, the difficult things and the conflicts.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been living in surfy houses for a while. One of the very best ways to get to know people is the gentle chatting late at night when everything's done, with a cup of tea or home-made beer, or early in the morning when it's still hard to speak because you haven't finished your coffee yet.
兴趣
I like climate science and policy. I'm interested in new ways for communities to organise themselves and work together. I'm a fan of direct action and I like on veggie cooking. I like exploring drains and I like making jam. I like horrible weather and then warm alcohol. I like dressing up stupidly and going dancing, even if it's just in the kitchen. I like the wild mood that takes you when you go and swim somewhere new and stupid, or write until it's starting to get light. I'm keen on comics and drawing and combining them with all of the above.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情
I love spending nights in odd places. Under the Eiffel Tower, in a thunderstorm on a beach at the end of the world, hiding in a boat on a hot Chicago beach, in a punt drifting down the river Cam, huddled in boxes for charity, in a truck in an overgrown rail yard, in a squatted Amsterdam tram depot, in a pipe in a builder's yard...
教,学,和分享
I won't teach too well, it's better to talk. So let's talk all the ways we communicate with graphics, or about climate science and the (mis)communication of science.
