About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be present, be vulnerable, be authentic, be funny, and love like crazy.

ABOUT ME

Fresh out of college. I was dumb enough to sell my car and move to Los Angeles with almost no plan besides getting a job as soon as possible and hopefully living here long term. It's been quite the adventure!

I'm a musician, writer, rock climber, thinker, craft beer drinker, and I'm also a really awkward stander. I never know what to do with my arms.

I'm an aspiring voice actor but I'm pretty shy about my voices/impressions/animal noises. Your friendship with me can be measured with what I am comfortable doing for you:

Acquaintances: puppy whimper, crotchety old man
Friends: Spanish newscaster, Irish accent
Close Friends: Bruce the Shark, rooster call
Besties for the Resties: Morgan Freeman, Winnie the Pooh

PHILOSOPHY

Love well. Call out the good in people. Serve humanity, but don't forget to have fun ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just recently moved to Los Angeles from Virginia. I will be surfing until I find a permanent place to live, and then I can host people!

I'm so excited to host and be able to provide others with the generosity that I have so richly received from hosts I've stayed with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never hosted, currently surfing around LA until I have found a permanent place.

I've learned a lot about the couchsurfing experience since being in LA. It's not just a free place to stay, its a cultural exchange. It's a giving and receiving. When a host opens their home to me I can and should give back, even if it is just small gestures or sharing stories and experiences. I've grown a lot and the cultures that seemed so strange to me are starting to feel like home :)

Interests

Music (I play the sax, guitar, piano, bass, didgeridoo, and I sing), eating, beaches, mountains, travel, meeting people, slacklining, dancing, beer, photography, rock climbing, hiking, theology, programming/coding, fashion, League of Legends (yep, ima nerd)...

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite movie of all time: The Next Three Days

Favorite band: Grouplove

Favorite book: Life of Pi

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to the heart of one of the poorest nations in the world: Mozambique, where the people live in villages, like what you see in National Geographic. It was wild.

I have been in both the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the London New Years Day Parade.

Teach, Learn, Share

Over the last few weeks I've met a lot of travelers from abroad. I've gotten some of them to teach me some of their language: Polish, Chinese... I'm such a language buff :D
