ABOUT ME

I'm just some dude with big dreams cursed by the undeniable fact that I'm so laid back I'm still living in last week. I function rarely, if at all. Occasionally I will do something worthwhile like write a script, make a film or eat protein. This isn't as often as it should be though.

However, that being said I am getting much better. My recent adventures to New York City and Turkey have really set the standard for me and given me the motivation to get out there and see more of the world.

I absolutely loved it State side. So much so that I plan to get back out there as soon as possible and see as much of it as I can. I just need to raise the funds for it.

So how do I do that? Well, I'm a self employed filmmaker by trade. To bring home the proverbial bacon I make corporate videos for companies, music videos for bands and other such promotional media. I also do a lot of scriptwriting and when I get chance I like to film my own shorts.

I recently got a part time night shift job at a local Supermarket just... you know, stacking shelves and whatnot to bring in some regular income. As great as the filmmaking side is, it's pretty Boom/Bust at the moment especially where I live (in the middle of suburban nowhere). The night job isn't that bad at all though, gives me a lot of time to think, reflect and plan my future conquests (which may/may not pose a danger to the wider world).

All in all though, I'm determined, outgoing and level headed with an insatiable appetite for adventure and exploration. I don't take myself too seriously at all. I love going new places and meeting new people, especially from different countries and cultures. I guess this would be the place to warn you that I also have a wicked sense of humour. Don't get me wrong though I am still a very polite person, especially when it comes to meeting new people.

I tend to travel with my heterosexual life mate, Steveo. He's an awesome guy. Like minded and equally as up for anything. He doesn't have a profile here yet but I shall persist to nag him into it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Initially, I will just be looking to surf. I don't have my own place yet.

I live 20 miles north of Birmingham, England's second biggest city. While it's big and has a fair few things to do there, it's no London!

That being said, as a traveller myself I tend to enjoy going to places off the map with little to no tourists as I feel you get a better understanding of the culture and way of life there. And I'm certain I'm not the only one, so if there are any like minded people from further afield who are in the area and would like to meet up and get shown around, I'm sure something could be arranged!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None as yet. I only found out about this site recently through a friend who has an account here. To be honest, it feels as though I've struck gold. This is just the site I've been after. For a loooooonnnnnnnngggggg time.

Movies:

Far too many to mention. I love all sorts of movies. My favourite writers/directors are the Coen Brothers and Kevin Smith.

Books:

Mostly factual reading. I love the books by Clive Prince and Lynn Picknett especially 'The Secret History of Lucifer' and 'The Masks of Christ'. That sounds awfully evil and grim... but it's really not. I promise.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I made a short flick and went on represent my region at the BAFTA's (British Academy Film & Television Awards 2008) in London and walked the red carpet with the likes of Sir Anthony Hopkins, Viggo Mortensen and Keira Knightley. That really set the standard. I'd love to end up there again with another one of my films.
