Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I originally got onto couchsurfing in order to find ways of mitigating travel expenses, but it turns out it's a lot more than that! it's a great way to learn about various cultures, get to know people the world over and just make friends! When we return from our travels, I want to host people on our little Gulf Island of Gabriola as much as possible!

Intereses

They include, but are not limited to: music - playing, singing, listening (from blues to bossa nova, funk to flamenco, reggae to Rachmaninoff), food (eating and cooking), craft beers & good whiskey (not to leave out tequila), puttin' on shows, playing sports (not so much watching anymore), golf (not necessarily a "sport"), people (I like social and cultural exchange, I think it may be our only hope as a species), and now as it turns out, travel. I'm mostly a Blues guy, but grew up listening to rock n' roll. My buddy and I do a radio show every Thursday AM from 6-9 Pacific time called The Morning Fog. It features jazz, roots and blues. I'm in a couple of different bands: The Doghouse Blues Revue (just like it sounds) and Purple Kush'n (a 10-piece funk band), as well as performing in various other projects like our a' cappella trio '33 & 1/3', and 'Twilight Radio Theatre' (we do old-time radio plays in front of a live audience). I try not to limit my interests, there are a lot of interesting things in the world.

Movies: not much of a movie buff, but I've always preferred comedic stuff to dramatic stuff .

Books: Roget's Thesaurus, Bartholemew and the Oobleck (anything by Dr. Seuss), Lord of the Rings, Ray Bradbury/Isaac Asimov/Robert Heinlein/Arthur C. Clarke...but not that goofball L. Ron Hubbard.
