About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I just want to see things. Every thing. And meet the people there. There's not much more exciting to me than to get out of my bubble and see places that most people normally don't get a chance to see.

ABOUT ME

I moved to Philadelphia for grad school about eight months ago and dropped out after I realized that I was spending tons of money on stuff that I could learn on my own. Still living in Philly and enjoying life as a quasi-adult. We'll see how that goes.

Eventually, I'd love to try to start a small farm (5 acres or so) back down in the South where I'm from. Cold winters are just too much for my thin skin to handle. Rest assured, if I ever do start a farm, y'all are all invited to come hang out.

PHILOSOPHY

Ask me on my deathbed.

Until then, I'd say my philosophy is to seek truth and to try to not be so scared of where I might find it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As soon as I get settled into my new place in August, I'm hoping to start hosting people. This summer I'll be on a road trip going back and forth across America so I'm hoping to start networking in CS and get more involved than I've been able to so far.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've yet to have my first CouchSurfing experience. Hopefully that'll change soon.

Interests

Photography: After two years without taking many pictures, I've been trying to get back into it. Haven't had much time lately, but hopefully a road trip this summer will help out.

There are a lot more, but I'll just leave it at one for right now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I'm really into folk, bluegrass, and country (NOT Nashville Tim McGraw type stuff, but the real Texas country) at the moment. So my top three for right now are Joe Pug, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Hayes Carll.

Movies: I like watching just about anything, but there are only two movies that I'll watch again and again and again. They are: Pulp Fiction and The Burbs.

Books: I've been trying to read more meandering fiction lately to calm my mind down and get used to the slower-paced life that comes with having a 9-5 job (starting that in the fall). Books that I've enjoyed lately are 'Gilead' by Marylinne Robinson and 'Jayber Crow' by Wendell Berry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been lucky to do a lot of things that I would consider "amazing", but the one that sticks out in my mind is bungee jumping from the Verzasca Dam in Switzerland. 700+ feet and 5+ seconds of free fall. It was an adrenaline rush I'll never forget. If you're ever in southern Switzerland you should take the time and the money to check it out. Totally worth it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Cyprus, Germany, Italy, Lebanon

Countries I’ve Lived In

Switzerland, United States
