Traveling is much more than the experience of temporarily moving from one place to another. Couchsurfing has given me since 2016 the opportunity to broaden my horizons. I actively participate in politics in my country, so traveling allows me to generate new perspectives that contribute to my life.

I enjoy walking through the cities, using public transport or riding a bicycle, reading the news, knowing what is happening, what people are thinking, the problems of each place. Sometimes I return to a city just to feel it. Sitting in a square or a park and watching things just happen.

Sometimes I visit tourist places, other times I choose exotic or strange destinations, many of those "don't go" ones. Curiosity leads me to want to discover the stories of places I have read and learned about in all this time.

I try to be a good ambassador for my country, represent its values (and my values), find out what we can teach the world and what maybe we should change. In Uruguay, I actively participate in the activities of the Couchsurfing community and promote these instances of exchange with people from all over the world.

I don't need to think the same as everyone else, nor just lock myself in my ideas. I practice being respectful, pleasant, patient and open with the styles, preferences and life choices. I promote that same attitude towards myself and others.

Viajar es mucho más que la experiencia de desplazarse temporalmente de un lugar a otro. Couchsurfing me brinda desde 2016 la oportunidad de ampliar mis horizontes. Participo activamente en política en mi país, por lo que viajar me permite generar nuevas perspectivas que aportan a mi vida.

Disfruto de caminar por las ciudades, usar el transporte público o andar en bicicleta, leer las noticias, saber lo que está sucediendo, lo que está pensando la gente, las problemáticas de cada lugar. A veces regreso a una ciudad simplemente para sentirla. Sentarme en una plaza o un parque y ver las cosas simplemente suceder.

En ocasiones visito lugares turísticos, otras veces elijo destinos exóticos o raros, muchos de esos de "no vayas". La curiosidad me lleva a querer descubrir las historias de lugares sobre los cuales he leído y aprendido en todo este tiempo.

Intento ser buen embajador de mi país, representar sus valores (y mis valores), descubrir lo que podemos enseñarle al mundo y lo que quizás deberíamos cambiar. En Uruguay participo activamente de las actividades de la comunidad de Couchsurfing y promuevo estas instancias de intercambio con personas de todo el mundo.

No necesito pensar igual que todas las personas, ni encerrarme sólo en mis ideas. Practico el ser respetuoso, ameno, paciente y abierto con los estilos, preferencias y elecciones de vida. Promuevo esa misma actitud hacia mí y hacia los demás.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Depending on my availability, we can go out to explore the city on foot or bicycle. I can also give some advice on how to get to some places and how to take advantage of discounts and Montevideo attractions that are free.

Dependiendo de mi disponibilidad, podemos salir a recorrer la ciudad a pie o en bicicleta. También puedo dar algunos consejos sobre cómo llegar a algunos lugares y cómo aprovechar descuentos y atracciones de Montevideo que son gratuitas.
