Note!! I get a lot of requests daily but can not often host, and have to sell many time no unfortunatly. I feel always honnored but it are simply way more requests then i can chew onfortunatly. Holliday period i guess. I will also travel this period.

I live in the historical city center of Maastricht and love this city with all it the many interesting beautiful places,
Like most couch surfers here i am also an relaxed easy going, open minded, positive, curious towards life guy.
And inside of me burns always this flame of life or curiosity for adventure and make something special happen.

I also actively organize event's in Maastricht to bring some random strangers together under the excuse of a nice hike, comedy night, game night, cave walk or anything.

Soon your study starts, but you can't find a room.. And desparatly you try your luck on couchsurfing. I feel sorry for everyone that it can be so stressfull and dificult to find something. So many students so little rooms and everybody fishes in the same pond and competition is crazy..
Relax breath in breath out, your on the right way, the fact that you already made it till here is a sign of your pro active search skills wich usualy will be rewarded in the end.

I will try to give you some tips where you can try to increase your luck;
Remember you have to be lucky only once 😉

- Despite how desparate your are always be aware of scammers and do your homework and research. Are people real, is the house pics and adress person compagny real? and trusth worthy. And will i see my deposit back?

- Competition can be crazy, you really have to sell your self and show why you are the best room mate. Remember all the others are also very clean, sociable, respectfull and can cook amazing diners. It's always big point of discussion but girls always have an edge here with landlord prefrence in general but not all luckely.
But always be your self :) , be pro active in taking action. And you can introduce yourself in for example a short personal video to get trough the first viewing selection if you struggle here. Be different and creative ;)

There are so so many,
and they all want to squeeze your penny. You can be lucky here. But check their google reviews since they can be difficult with service comunication and getting your deposite back, when your already finished your study here and are back home 100 miles away, ocupied in a completly diferent busy life phase.
Ah lets ignore that student a litlle longer and and after some time they will forget and don't care about that small amount of deposite money anymore, wich was do to unlucky miss comunications completly forgotten whoops

4 Anti squad housing
This is high risk, high reward.
Lots of space for little money, but you don't know where,what, and if or how long. Just have to be lucky here and keep calling them.

Across the border in Belgium can be an option in villages like Lanaken Veldwezelt
But the best is Kanne 10 minutes by bike

6 look offline
In the land off the blind 1 eye is king.
Not so long ago there was a generation who didn't grow up with that thing called the " Internet" if they want to sell something or rent out a room they hang a piece of paper on the window or on the supermarkets message board. Sometimes it can be worth to simply just go for a walk. Same goes for the village of Kanne. If you have that luxery that your already here.

7 Use the comunity network
Still no luck? Keep asking around in your network app groups and university.
Use the facebook group sharing is caring Maastricht for example. If you explain your desparate situation there always will come out something. Big chanche they point back to the previous points here. But its amazing what kind of problems are solved in the past by the comunity

1 The caves of Maastricht it's my big passion and ofcourse nr1 daily tours available, pro tip go for Jezuitenberg
2 St Jans church at the vrijthof for 2 euro in the summer you can climb to the top and have a great view
3 City park the old wall and the old beautiful streets of the Jeker kwartier away from the shopping crowds
4 The Ainsi theater just outside the center check online for plays
5 The dominicanen bookshop in the church is ofcourse a classic
6 De weg geef winkel maastricht, give away shop with all kinds of secondhand stiff for the people who need it
7 Kringloop zuid & Hartelstein 2 big triftshops for all the 2nd hand treasure hunters &winkeltje van Jo Pie
8 Tower Ebenezer 7 km form Maastricht. 1 man with a dream builded his own mysterious castle
9 Fronten Park, make a beautifull sunset evening walk on top of the old walls during the summer
10 Fitness in a church at Basic fit members or Ill fiore, ask for a free day pas online

Things to do in the evening:
1 Check the bars in in the 1st top 10 Lumiere Rooftop some bars like Cafe duke or forum have often Live music
2 Free English lectures for everyone about everything at the university check studium generale Maastricht
3 Foodbank Landbouw every friday evening, make easily new friends while you cook together a vegan meal
4 Centrum vaktherapie join them on conversation skill evenings or drum circles or improv and drama play
5 Landbouw belang they trow great alternative parties in the weekend, but also comedy skate cafe live music
6 The Theaters aan het vrijthof, de Ainsi theater old cement factory, or Bon boniere (temporary closed)
7 Irish Pub quiz at John Mullins, cafe familia and fallstaf organize pubquiz aswell during the week
8 Complex club the venue has hosted many of some world class top djs but sometimes also latin and R & B
9 Salsa parties at Bernaards with great to dance and socialize or the Stay ok Hostel
10 Saturday night the party places are 4 dancing bars at the Patiel straat and 4 party bars on the markt
Bonus tip: here you have also many times secret parties where they give away the location on the last minute
