About Me
PLEASE NOTE:
I am working the whole week and have to get up early, so weekdays is rather bad currently. I also have to check with my housemates every time, so very short term messages are also rather not possible most of the time. Sorry
ABOUT ME
I think such a self-description won't really give a good picture who I am, so the better way is: Meet me. Just some things about what I do and what I'm interested in:
I'm interested in science, but not only biology in particular, although I am a biologist by training. My field of research is the immune system. But more generally I think awareness of social implications of scientific research is important as well, which is more an ethical, than a logical issue. So I like thinking about science and society and the question of public understanding of science. Especially I'm also interested in social psychology and politics.
I think the most interesting thing in life is getting to know people. It broadens the own horizon and one can learn so much. That's why I was so enthusiastic joining this community when I first heard of it. I've been absent here for a while now as I did not have enough time and space to go for couchsurfing more recently. Might be more easily possible in 2016 again, I hope.
If you like to learn more about me, feel free to write me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
nice ones! (Indeed!)
Interests
I like good music, play the guitar in a band. Furthermore I'm interested in biology, social psychology and chemistry. I have been doing Judo and Ju-Jutsu for nearly 20 years, but time is rare at the moment so I'm not actively doing it anymore. I spend my sportstime with running and freeletics now.
In the words of Tim Minchin: "Run, my beautiful intellectuals, run!"
Recently I re-activated an old hobby of mine: Skateboarding. So much fun and until now no serious injuries. So keep fingers crossed for me ;-)
Music, Movies, and Books
novels I like:
- Die unerträgliche Leichtigkeit des Seins (Milan Kundera)
- Der Steppenwolf (Hermann Hesse)
- Life of Pi (Yann Martel)
- The Pillars of the Earth (Ken Follet)
- Das Märchen vom letzten Gedanken (Edgar Hilsenrath)
- Das Orangenmädchen (Jostein Gaarder) - extraordinary!
- Novels by Juli Zeh
... just to list a few
some non-fiction books I really enjoyed:
- The Lucifer Effect (Philip Zimbardo) (great!)
- The God Delusion (Richard Dawkins)
- Kultur als Zwischenwelt (Karl Eibl)
- Auf der Suche nach dem Gedächtnis (Eric Kandel)
- Hirnforschung und Meditation (Singer und Ricard)
- etc.etc.
Teach, Learn, Share
What you can learn and teach also depends on who you teach or learn from.
But I guess I can play the guitar a bit and I would love to improve skateboarding and language skills.
Generally open to new things to explore!
