About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live well, laugh much, give more than I get

ABOUT ME

I am me, terrible at being normal, love life. Enjoy setting myself challenges that scare me. I enjoy my own company and equally the company of others.
Am passionate about my four children, skiing, walking, music, art and antiques...oops that sounds at bit pretentious!
In 2010 after a period of being alone found true love with Jill Davies my now second wife, we were married in 2011

PHILOSOPHY

Most important thing is to know yourself, search for reality and when unsure do the right thing. To give is to receive and to receive is to give.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Against my mother's advice I always pick up hitch hikers, hitch myself, have taken three of my children and a dog hitching ( not all at the same time...that would be really silly ). Try to live a life that trusts strangers the way that I hope I will be trusted. Offer house and garden space to travellers if possible.

Interests

Art, art, art, getting on with life and not watching TV!

Music, Movies, and Books

Ken Walsh's book "Hitch Hikers Guide to Europe". First published in the 1970's and according to the author Douglas Adams was the inspiration to that crazy radio programme, book, film etc "The Titch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. March 2010 left my home in Pershore UK to walk on a pilgrimage to the eternal city of Rome in Italy, arrived June. 1,200 miles and the most amazing time of my life.
2. August 2001 Left Basle, Switzerland at 12.00 noon and hitched, after nine lifts ( one being in a friendly Paris police van when I was driven across the city to get the best road out ) arrived in Caen northern France at 2am I asked a complete stranger just getting out of his car if I could sleep in his floor of his living room and he said yes.
3. I have walked the entire coast of England and Wales ( a project that I started in 2002 and finished in 2017 ). Hippocrates - Greek physician 460 BC - 370 BC said Walking is man's best medicine....I have to agree with him.
