About Me

I've been off the couchsurfing for a while, being abroad and living in places without sofas, but now I've moved into a real house, with a living room, and that's all about to change!

So roll up, roll up, Edinburgh tourists, come and stay with me and my flatmates and we'll have an ace time!

I'm Chris, 24, just graduated Edinburgh Uni doing Environmental Sustainability, and now the plan is to save the world from climate change. How hard can it be?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Been couchsurfing a few times, met a few great people, stayed on some great couches and been for some great beers.

Interests

Playing music on the guitar, piano, ukulele, mandolin, harmonica, bongos, anything - and singing is how I spend a lot of time. Reading books from fiction to physics to philosophy, occasional painting, being outside, and most of all, travelling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking on my own from Amsterdam to Lisbon was one of the most interesting, thought-provoking, entertaining, challenging things I've ever done. But it was after I left Portugal and decided to go to Morocco that I got the boat across the Straights of Gibraltar. Leaving from Algeciras, you had the Rock of Gibraltar to the left, and turning the corner, ahead in the mist and fog, was a huge mountain rising out of the sea. We approached it slowly, with the Atlantic wind thundering in our ears before turning off to Tangiers. Here I was! Africa! A new unknown continent. Reaching Africa by boat was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it.
