About Me

Hi everyone!

First of all, I'm very sorry that I can't offer you a couch right now: I'm in the proess of moving house, and it will take a while... But once I'm settled in, I'll be hhappy to host again!

Now a few words about myself (for more - see the references).
I like nature and all kinds of outdoor activities - from a walk in a city park to cross-ocean sailing - and don't care much for "city comforts" (definitely no clubbing, drinking or nightlife!).
I prefer independent traveling and appreciate good company.
At home, I enjoy spending time with friends (best if it's cycling or walking, but staying t home and chatting all night is good, too).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CouchSurfing offers an amazing opportunity to see the world from the inside - get to know not just places, but people who inhabit these places as well! This cultural exchange is fascinating! It's a bit like hitch-hiking... only much safer :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed in Germany, Spain, India, the UK, France, Belgium, Holland, Austria, Italy, Slovakia, Poland and Belarus staying with great hosts wherever I went. I hosted quite a lot of CouchSurfers in Moscow and Podgorica (Montenegro), and 98% of them were great people! Some of them even came over more than once!

Interests

I love trekking, and have an extensive experience trekking in the UK and Montenegro (the two countries-away-from-home where I lived for a while), and other places, too. I usually try to find a host who shares this interest and can take me to trek in some nice places, or just give me some advice.
One dominating interest in the past few years has been sailing - as crew, and occasionally as skipper.
I enjoy cycling, but unfortunatelly Moscow has limited opportunities for this.
I do winter sports as well: skiing and snowboarding.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being a volunteer crew member on a tall ship in England.
Navigating a sailboat at night, alone at the helm, with the rest of the crew asleep.
Trekking up Bobotov Kuk (the highest mountain in Montenegro) and running away from a bush fire on the way down.
Hitch-hiking.
Paragliding (tandem).
Working with BBC Sport at the Winter Olympics in my home country.
