Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always had a wanderlust, and I now work for myself and travel all over the US exploring and working all sorts of different promotional gigs to support myself. I would absolutely love to extend my horizons to more out of the country traveling as well.

I'm very curious about this CS community that I've recently heard so much about. I always make friends with the locals wherever I go, to learn more about where I'm visiting, and go off the beaten path and not just to the tourist attractions. This seems like a great opportunity to do just that!

Interests

Traveling, of course!!!

Outdoor activities: hiking, exploring national parks, camping, kayaking/canoeing, swimming, running, skiing, horseback riding, reading or meditating in nature. I would love to get started with yoga.

Thrills: Skydiving, cliff jumping, roller coasters, water slides...would love to try paragliding, base jumping, parasailing

Culture: art galleries, museums, plays, musicals, opera, "foodie" restaurants, cooking

Partying: concerts, festivals, nightlife, boating, sporting events, fairs, parties...I'm down for any fun event!!!

I try to strike a balance in my life. While I love crazy and fun events and am the life of the party, it is draining. I certainly can only expend so much energy before I need to recharge in nature.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm very eclectic when it comes to music, depending on my mood. I love classic & hard rock, metal, house, drum&bass, country, bluegrass, jazz, classical, and many more...you name it! Going out and hearing live music is the best! :)

I love all types of books as well. When you're reading, your mind is active and you're constantly learning.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'd say picking up and leaving my old life to go on the road traveling full time was probably the most amazing thing that I've done. Some people think I'm crazy to do what I did and to be traveling alone, but I have never felt so free! There have been wondrous new experiences and encounters, and I know there will be many more.
