About Me
Ola! Well for starter, my name's pronounced as Chris despite the spelling.
I am always bad in the 'About Me' section but to sum it up I can say that I am easy-going and down-to-earth. Also, an animal lover and clean!
I've just finished my last semester of undergrad degree in Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Journalism and Writing. I have this great fascination for communication and media theoretical models for e.g. postmodernism, Freudian and psychoanalysis, etc. So, I am aspired to teach at the university level in the future on these theories. But for now, I am waiting for my results before I get busy with grad school and work as well. Hence, I've decided to explore the States as my graduation trip because I definitely believe this will be such an mind-opening one and I'm not going to lie that it has been my American dream to visit America.
Being me, I just love to see everything. Seeing IS everything! It's not just sightseeing but whatever that is around me. I believe that's how I learn and grasp about not just culture, but also society, politics, literally everything, you name it. That's why I love traveling to new places because there's so much to see and learn. You know how people say there's just too much information on the internet these days? Well, I want to apply that in reality. I wanna learn through seeing and not just solely on the internet. Yup, I've just created a new life philosophy of my own - seeing is everything :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would like to hang out with my host(s), knowing that they know their towns better than I do (not just the touristy spots but perhaps a hipster bar or cafe?). We all have to admit, the best way to know the town and its culture is by befriending with the locals. So hey, here I am, CS :)
I'll be traveling to the States as my graduation trip in January (yayy)! Being a student travelling all the way from Asia, no doubt I'm living with a tight budget. So it would be a blessing if there's a kind-hearted soul who can spare me their couch for a couple of days while I explore these amazing cities and towns (perhaps together if the host is free :D ).
Again, I believe CS makes it easier for everyone to meet new people and learn about the people and their places through hospitality, camaraderie and goodwill :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Really hard to list everything here!
I particularly love songs and movies from the 80s!
I am a big fan of Michael Bublé (Attended his concert in Jan '15. Such an amazing guy ), Michael Bolton, David Foster and Kenny G.
Love saxophone jazz!
As for books, I'm reading more of family melodrama kind of genre for example, books by Tony Parson. Also love, postmodernism genre like Kazuo Ishiguro's The Remains of the Day and the graphic novel, Maus by Art Spiegelman.
Teach, Learn, Share
I always feel there's so much for me to learn than teach. But of course, I will share anything that I know for example my language (Malaysians, we speak a number of language like Chinese, Malay and English and most of the time, we mix them all up), culture, knowledge in media theories and pop cultures.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Home-cleaning responsibilities! I sure hope I can share my cooking skills but I can say that my best dish would be toast and eggs.
