Overview
About Me
I'm coming to Amsterdam May 9-13. I have a hotel room booked but I think Couch Surfing would be way more fun. I am doing a workshop May 12-13, but I can be a social couch surfer the days before that -- cook for you or take you out for a meal or something maybe? Also very happy to self-entertain. :) Arriving on the Eurostar... if you need some camping gear like a camp stove, stool, sleeping pad, etc, I don't really need to take it back to Canada so I'd be very happy to give them to you! Have been in Europe 4 months but time to downsize again. <3
Yoga teacher, science writer/technical editor and I teach engineers to write better. Novelist (about time travelling history adventures and dragons and romance) when I make time for it. I play the flute. I lived for four years in Nova Scotia recently. I was raised in the Rocky Mountains between Calgary and Banff, Alberta. (those are all in Canada).
Heading back to Quebec in May for a wedding.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have always been the kind of person to share a couch or a ride or whatever helps! Enjoy having couch surfers and love meeting new people when I travel. Have loved my hitch-hiking trips and love interesting cool hitch-hikers too.
I have also done a lot of farm volunteering with wwoofing on my travels -- love helping out with a few jobs here and there if you have any house renovation projects or gardens to weed! :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I mainly play Celtic/Breton music now on my flute but I am also learning the tin whistle.
I sing sometimes. Mainly yoga mantras but I recently proved I can do old cowboy tunes under a full moon too with the right partner(s) to sing with.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I grew up in the Rocky Mountains and kind of think I was raised by the trees more than people as I spent more time with horses, trees, rocks, and the sky than with people until I went off to University.
One week I hugged a shark, flew an airplane, and tried to ride a steer in a rodeo. That would probably count as the most amazing week so far.
I raised a tall white boy to be compassionate and thoughtful and bilingual and a great systems thinker and now he's doing a math degree (he's 19). That counts doesn't it?
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a yoga teacher and love helping people with their posture, diets for inflammation, etc.
I can teach meditation and breath work.
I can also teach writing, or edit a paper for you, or a web page. I can help improve English.
I also used to teach high school science, chemistry, and math, so if anyone is working on those subjects I would love to help too!
