About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find God in beautiful places and beautiful people

ABOUT ME

I enjoy people and places, getting to know the real person behind the face and getting to see things I've never seen before. I may come across as reserved to strangers, but I enjoy giving and getting a laugh too. I am easy to please, just needing the basics in life. I love my country and would show it to everyone if I could.

PHILOSOPHY

This life is not all there is.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If my home was situated closer to public transport or easier to get to, I suppose I would be able to host more people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I think CouchSurfing is a great concept and only wish I had found out about it much sooner in my life. I have had only positive experiences and believe it's the best way to travel :)

Interests

Reading, movies, art (painting and drawing), photography, hiking, mountain biking, music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Iron Lady, Temple Grandin, Mr Holland's Opus, Forrest Gump,Braveheart.... I tend to like realistic drama's the most, but I also enjoy (shhhh!) Superhero movies! No thinking required :)

Music: Easy listening, ColdPlay, U2, Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne, Snowpatrol, Keane, classical too, a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Books: The Book Thief, anything by Philip Yancey, Harry Potter, Terry Pratchet, Francine Rivers, Ted Dekker and some Afrikaans stuff you would likely not know.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I survived a sinking mokorro (small boat made of a hollowed out tree trunk) in the crocodile infested waters of the Zambesi river, all in an effort to see the rare but beautiful Carmine Bee Eater birds.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to fix a car with a hair clip...

Austria, Belgium, Botswana, France, Germany, Mozambique, Namibia, Netherlands, Spain, Swaziland, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Zimbabwe
