About Me
I have always wanted to be a city kid.
When I was very little and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would reply, "I want to be a cocktail waitress in NEW YORK CITY!" complete with a flourish and spin
This always got big laughs from the grown-ups in Casper Wyoming, sigh.
Instead of slinging drinks in the Big Apple, I instead went to live in Western Colorado where I raised kids and raised eyebrows for about 30 years.
Now I finally get to live in a big city and I am LOVING it! I have recently moved to Denver where I have thrown myself headlong into the music scene by taking jobs working security and being a stage-hand at the large venues here (yep, including Red Rocks!!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My husband ( https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/will-whalen )and I are headed to Los Angeles at the end of September 2018 and we do not want to isolate and insulate ourselves by using a hotel for accommodations. We both feel that once your hotel room door closes behind you there is virtually no chance of meeting a new person or having a new experience. We have a strong desire to meet people in Southern California and are possibly looking to relocate to the area in the near future.

Check it out!
I'm into a lot of stuff, and my job helps me to find new acts I love all the time! My favorite standbys are Watsky, Beck, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Beastie Boys, and White Stripes. (Some of Jack's new stuff is okay, but he just doesn't seem as into it as he used to be.)
Most recent movie I saw: The Happytime Murders. WEIRDEST most recent movie: Sorry to Bother You.
As far as books go, give me anything by Neil Gaiman or Patrick Rothfuss and I'm good to go
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This could be one of my three Burning Man journeys, my trip to Honduras, or reinventing pretty much my whole life over the last year. Ask me about any of them!
Teach, Learn, Share
Yes! Yes! Yes!
I am a teacher. I am happiest when I am planning a series of lessons with a clear beginning, middle and end. The reason I love to teach is that I have found that it is the best way for me to learn. I always learn something from a student, even if it is a lesson I have taught hundreds of times. Sharing information is my highest calling
