About Me

I have been a travel agent since 2008 and LOVE to travel. My husband and I now both have administrative job for a ministry of the government of Canada. I am also a part-time student at university and am studying second language teaching. I love learning new languages and new cultures. We have two twin daughters (11 years old, well-behaved and respectful of other people’s belongings) and a puppy named Pantoufle (1 year old, mix breed, not shedding a lot, pretty calm, very sociable and submissive to other dogs).

We actually live for traveling, but since the beginning of the pandemic, it changed our plans and we miss it so much! We have just decided to do a once in a lifetime trip so we took a 6-months leave of absence and we are gonna visit the US with our daughters and our dog. We will start our trip in March and will return home by the end of August. We plan to do some petsitting along the way, some volunteering, camping, home exchange, and of course some Couchsurfing. It will be our first CS experience so we hope to enjoy it. :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a world traveler, I experienced student exchanges, all-inclusive resorts, roadtrips, cruises, AirBnb and other house rentals, home exchange, camping, luxury and not-so-luxury hotels, but I now want to try something different. I think the best part or travel is social connections we make so I believe Couchsurfing would bring that part that is often missing in traditional travel. We are currently a 6-month trip to the USA with my husband, my two daughters and our dog, and we would like to try something different this time. We are looking for a life-changing trip and I think social, collaborative, and different experiences such as Couchsurfing, Petsitting and Woofing would bring that special touch to our trip.

A friend of us has hosted Couchsurfers for many years now and only had positive experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

We both love listening to music but we have bad memory with titles and even group names sometimes… we like many styles but our favorite groups are The Offsprings, Billy Talent, Green Day, some punk/rock groups, and we like also some Quebec-French music.

I LOVE watching movies, mostly watching animated movies with my kids nowadays, but like every types. My husband is not a big fan of movies. We mostly watch Netflix series together and loved Breaking Bad, Animal Kingdom, The walking dead, Orange is the new black, Prison Break…

My husband is a big reader and his reading are mostly related to history, World War II, mafia, and that sort of things. I mostly read books related to children education, teaching, finance, and real estate investment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having children
Student exchange in Alberta (Canada) and in Ecuador
Having my own travel agency
Having dogs
Traveling as much as possible

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak French, English and Spanish, and I am studying to be a Second language teacher so I guess I can teach you some of those languages. I cook the best guacamole, naan bread pizza, and lasagna. I can also teach you how to ski. My husband Jimmy is good at sports and is an ice hockey player, does mountain biking, snowmobiling, golfing, and skiing. He loves history and everything related to World War II.

We both love to learn so we are interested about learning pretty much anything you have to offer. Or we can just share some travel or life stories or a meal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some travel and life stories, make friends for life or for few days (up to you), help with some daily chores and cooking if needed, share some good times. I can also teach you some French and Spanish.
