About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Home is where the heart is and my heart is all over the world.
ABOUT ME
After a long hiatus (sorry for unanswered couch requests!) from couchsurfing, I have returned. Took awhile to get settled back here but now I am currently living in Los Angeles with my husband. We love meeting new people and learning about different cultures and traveling all over the world.
Lived in Baltimore, Los Angeles, Seoul and traveled/somewhat lived in North Africa, Southeast Asia and Western Europe. I enjoy travelling, hearing life stories, new cultures, and spontaneity. I'm always trying out new things to figure out what I don't like or what I do like. And figuring out what you don't like is 50% of the battle.
I'm adventurous, open-minded, creative and love to meet new people and show then around or just listen to their stories! I find that I can learn a lot about the world and myself that way!
I strive towards living, balancing, and simplifying my life. Architecture is my profession but travelling is my occupation. I believe that travelling should have purpose or an end goal and should not be aimlessly travelling from one site to another.
I just came back from N. Africa on a Traveling Fellowship about a year and a half ago. I examined the architectural development of Arab cities and how it responds to globalization. I'm interested in the built environment and how architects and planners can design without intruding on the culture that is already there.
Architecture is a big part of my life if you haven't already figured out, but it is not the only part of my life! :)
PHILOSOPHY
Leading an exciting and spontaneous life, taking every opportunity that comes to me and remaining open to all experiences, while trying to maintain balance and moderation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm always up for meeting for a coffee or drink and showing people around town, wherever I am. I host when I can. I'm grateful to those who have shown me new people and places and I also enjoy showing people my own culture. Please mention something from my profile if you are requesting a couch to know that you have read my profile - couchsurfing is not just a free place to stay, it's meeting and interacting with other people and cultures, teaching, learning, and sharing with each other.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted people for short and long stays. I have met up with and showed around town many Csers during my time in Los Angeles and Seoul. I enjoying hosting/attending CS events when I cannot travel, which gives me a fresh outlook when I start to get stuck in the mundane of everyday life. When I am travelling, I take pleasure in meeting new people and listening to their views on the the world, and making lasting and meaningful relationships. Everyone I have met through this organization has been great!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to most music but enjoy mostly indie rock, electro, alternative, and acoustic. My head has its own music studio :P I'm currently reading Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and Making Globalization Work by Joseph E. Stiglitz. I will now have to add Inception as my one of my all time favorite movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Too many. My life is constantly filled with amazing adventures and I am in constant awe. I am thankful everyday for that.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love both learning and sharing knowledge. This includes simple things such as how to bake cream puffs with the puff to non-simple things such as how to design a building in a country where you don't speak the language.
