About Me

Hey, I just graduated college. I've been tutoring and mentoring for a couple of years, and I'm deeply, very deeply passionate about learning. I have infinitely more to learn than I have to teach.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've literally never travelled anywhere besides the U.S. and even then, I've only road tripped for schooling. I'm couch surfing because I don't want to be a tourist, I want to live and speak with the people here.

Interests

I'm short, but I legitimately throw down in basketball. I've also watched a fair amount of Seinfeld.

Music, Movies, and Books

There's this guy named Hashfinger that makes some fairly good music. I listen to a fair amount of soulful music and a fair amount of Hip Hop.

I was once a person who never read, and didn't enjoy reading. I then went to a school that thrust reading upon me. To date, I've read a little bit of everything, from Plato to Aristotle, Hume to Baudelaire, Nietzsche to Heidegger, Pascal to Aristophanes, Bohr to Einstein, Darwin to Faraday, Maxwell to Kepler, Dostoyevsky to Hemingway. I can't say I have a few favorites; I'm humbled through everything I read, and learn from every work I stumble across.

My musical passion extends its slimy tentacle hands to all genres, but my heart is with Hip Hop, Rap, and classic American soul.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just last month, I hiked some of the Camino de Santiago. One particular day, it rained the hardest I've ever witnessed rain rain. The winds that day bordered on 40-60 mph winds. I, an unprepared and inexperienced hiker, walked through two hours of rain and two changes of clothing across the Spanish countryside alone to get to another town. It was great.

Teach, Learn, Share

Jellyfish are 95% water.

"The liberated … roves fiercely around, with an unsatisfied longing and whatever objects he may encounter must suffer from the perilous expectancy of his pride; he tears to pieces whatever attracts him. With a sardonic laugh he overturns whatever he finds veiled or protected by any reverential awe: he would see what these things look like when they are overturned." - Friedrich Nietzsche

I have long, infinitely long reading and movie lists, however, most of all I've ever learned I've learned from have conversations with other people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I make great salad.

I clean to meditate, so whatever cleaning I can do, I will do so that I can someone else's life just that much easier.

I like joking around and making people laugh; it's really my greatest joy in life.
