About Me

Dutch-Canadian living in Warsaw.

My interest in travel is a result of my "Third Culture Kid" background (TCK: Somebody who grows up in a culture different to that of their parents). Growing up with people from different backgrounds was the norm for me, and I feel these are the environments where you meet the most interesting people. Also there's so much of the world I have yet to see in order to further broaden my horizons.

As a person I'd describe myself as somebody who is generally calm, responsible and respectful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Think it's a great way to meet locals, who are always the best people to meet when travelling to a different place. Also a great way to meet other travelers in the area.

Had my first (and, so far, only) couchsurfing experience in Brno Jan 24-27 2016, and I enjoyed it. Hope to do it sometime soon!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Usually old fashioned rock (AC/DC, Pink Floyd) but currently I feel my taste is 'evolving'. Though I'm not really fan of 'party' music. It's fine at a bar/club but not on my personal iTunes library.

Books: I feel my overall taste leans towards 20th century literature. I like both fiction and non-fiction. Currently reading: The Unnamed - Joshua Ferris

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to Krakow, Poland for my Erasmus+ Exchange semester. It was an amazing experience and opened a new side to me. Furthermore this experience eventually contributed to landing my first real job in Warsaw straight after completion of my Master Degree.

Live in 3 continents, 5 countries, 6 cities in my life. Hoping to increase this as life goes on :)
