Recent college grad scrounging up savings and freelance cash to live in my minivan and travel around the country for a while. Road tripping and art are alongside people and movies as my very favorite things, and I'm excited to get to focus on both for a while! I've never been on my own for this long (I come from a big family and always had multiple roommates in college), so I'm interested in experiencing that as well.
Left from Brookeville, MD on 8/14/17, and am currently in the PNW, heading slowly down the greater coastal region.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would love to meet people while I'm on the road! Traveling alone has proved to have some major pros and major cons, but it definitely makes you miss regular, comfortable, face-to-face conversation. I've been pretty good with sleeping in my van so far (despite a few areas where legal parking gets pretty tricky), but I would love to meet up with any and all types of people and learn about your towns and lives!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies:
Anything by the Coen brothers. Fargo, Inside Llewyn Davis, and A Serious Man all fall in my top 5 movies of all time.
Other favorite movies: All That Jazz, It's Such a Beautiful Day, The Tree of Life, 8 1/2, Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters, Goodfellas, Boyhood, Frances Ha, Beginners, Synecdoche New York, Taxi Driver, There Will Be Blood, Do The Right Thing, Stalker, Pulp Fiction, The Shining, O Brother Where Art Thou?... I better cut myself off. I loved Mother!

I have lots to learn.
Music:
I dip into most genres, but I always land somewhere back in the rock world. I borderline worship Lou Reed/The Velvet Underground, A. Savage/Parquet Courts, and Why?/Yoni Wolf- they can do no wrong.
Other favorites: Vampire Weekend, Listener, King Krule, Tyler the Creator, Pixies, Jawbreaker, Frank Ocean, Talking Heads, Death Grips, Kanye West, Joyce Manor, Sorority Noise, Alex G, Future Islands, Bon Iver, Bob Dylan, Cage the Elephant, Joy Division, New Order, Flume, Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Tame Impala, Earlier: Killers, Passion Pit, Modest Mouse, & Say Anything,,, time to cut myself off again.
Books:
Kurt Vonnegut. Cat's Cradle is my favorite book.
Other favorites: On The Road, Watchmen, Howl, 1984, Cat's Cradle.
Currently reading Zen & The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and Breakfast of Champions and liking them both a lot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Oh, this is a scary one. I have driven across the country 5 times with various combinations of family friends so far in my lifetime, always on very little money; I am proud of that! Finally completed the 48 contiguous states a few weeks ago, I'll need to start planning for 49 & 50 soon >:).
Teach, Learn, Share
I feel inadequate to really teach anything, and am happy to learn almost everything- I love discussions about art, culture, music, movies, personal stories and experiences, and existential dread- whether they are about topics within those categories that I know about or not! Always down for sharing and learning.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am helpful, courteous, and smiley! I hate being a burden or getting in the way, and really liking helping out whenever I get the chance. I am always happy for conversation and the exchange of ideas!
