About Me
Hey there!
I am a pacifistic and in general happy as well as frankly person. I studied biochemistry because I am very interested in life itself. This is true for every living being, no matter if plant, bacteria, mushroom or animal (humans included :o) ). However after starting my PHD I realized that I don't like many things about our science system and that I do not want to be part of it as it is right now, thus I decided to do something else. Therefore I am now on working holiday with my friend Hobbes (see pictures) in Australia, to make up my mind (though I already have some ideas).
I would describe myself as a pleasant-natured person as I have practically never troubles with other human beings as long as they do not want to harm me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As mentioned before I am traveling at the moment through Australia and I am looking forward to get to know several different people as well as different ways of life (and living) via couch-surfing.
I also want to offer a "couch" when I am back in Germany, but I guess I have to discuss this first with my flatmates (although I do not think they would disagree with this idea).
Interests
Besides everything that is nature related, in my spare time I like to juggle a lot, especially outside in the green, when the weather is nice. I do a bit of everything I would say, as I play the diabolo, juggle with balls (learning 4 atm) as well as clubs and I recently started the flower stick. I also ride the unicycle, but I didn't bring mine to Austraila.
My other passion is doing massages. I do massages since a long time, starting as a child, as I liked getting a massage, thus I wanted to give something back. However I just recently thought about getting a little bit more professional, so I've been to two courses in Germany. One was a weekend-course at an alternative living project outside of Berlin. The other was a half year course at my former university. I will soon participate in 2 Kahuna-courses near Brisbane. Also maybe interesting for you: I am often looking for some training, but therefore of course I need volunteers ;o)

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of music, reaching from classical music to metalcore. Thus far I found at least a couple of bands in every musical genre, even nowadays some electronical stuff.
For Movies basically the same is true. Although I might enjoy a brainless action movie, I would always prefer a good story over special effects (stuff like Memento, Adams æbler/Adam's apples, Serenity (which has both)...) Comedy is fine, but there I'll go more for the silly stuff (big fan of Monty-Python as well as (splatter-) B-movies that do not take themselves seriously).
Just to get relaxed I like reading Sci-Fi and Fantasy (e.g. Spectrum (Sergey Lukyanenko) Song of Ice and Fire). On the other hand I really enjoy philosophy when my mind is stress-free already (Platon, Osho)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stopping my PHD and going for a working holiday in Australia.

Everything I am able to, which includes a lot (maybe all) of the experiences I had so far. But more practically spoken, I am of course happy to share my juggling and massage skills as well as teaching them as best I can.
