About Me

Hello!
My name is Christian and I’ve been in a constant state of travel since I left my home state of New York in 2018. After finishing school, I bought a one-way ticket to the West where I started building a career in Education and living out of a van. These days, I work for different schools as a Wilderness Educator, where I get to take school-aged kids on outdoor trips all over the country. Needless to say it keeps me traveling to new places all the time. I love being a teacher and I find a lot of fulfillment in working with my students. Generally my Job gives me 2-3 month-long chunks of time off, so I get a lot of time to pursue my communities, passions, and wandering. I generally spend that time visiting with friends/family, cooking elaborately, and curating events all around the country! Right now, the point of traveling feels like to find greater perspectives and make deeper connections. I’ve spent a lot of time traveling for the purpose of climbing the highest mountains and exploring far out natural places, but right now I think I’m seeking a more cultural or human experience. This Winter I will be spending quality time in South-East Asia with my best friend Lucy! Together, we are music loving, food oriented, and heart centered humans who love storytelling and hot springs :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on couch surfing to share my perspective with others’ in an authentic way, instead of just traveling in order to “sightsee”. Depth is the main thing that I am seeking in all aspects of life these days and it just feels like connecting with the people who live in a place creates that deeper connection.

Interests

I love spending time outside. I am constantly seeking the experience of being in wonder or being a beginner at something. I love to juggle, slackline, rock climb, hike, dive into different culture, play music, dance. Human connection is diverse and amazing! I also love spending my time bringing people together, whether its around a meal, or a huge event.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once upon a time I hiked 2600 miles from Mexico to Canada over 4 months on a route called the Pacific Crest Trail!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching and sharing what I have picked up on my travels! I am particularly keen on Juggling, Cooking, Dancing, DJing, Piano, and traditional tea practices right now and can share a lot about any of those things. I’m also excited to learn about those things, listen to new perspectives, and cook together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am super flexible depending on who is hosting me. Im an extrovert, but I am more than ok with being independent. I try to be conscious of how people like their spaces kept, and typically put a lot of effort into following suit, or leaving it better than I found it. I love to cook for other (or with) and that is usually a way I tend to spend time with hosts. I have a lot of stories from my travels all over, and I typically feel like I have unique perspectives although I’m always open to hearing others. I truly believe that we all have something to offer each other regardless of our views and respect ALL.
I generally travel with traditional tea ceremony stuff and so I love to offer that unique experience to my hosts!
