Hello, my name is Christian Poe and I come from a pretty big city in Texas, San Antonio. I was born on the 24th of February of 1992 and raised here all 24 years. I've always been a very focused student all throughout school and college. When I was 12 I picked up a sport that would change me forever in the aspect of how I see the world and those around me, skateboarding. I have such a great passion for it that I can't get myself to stop even at this age and I don't see myself slowing down any time soon. Since then I've always enjoyed spending my time outside whether it be skateboarding, hanging out at the beach camping with friends, or simply in the backyard by a fire. I have 3 brothers, two younger and an older, all whom I love very much and enjoy their presence. I've been with my girlfriend/best friend for a little over a year now, but we've been best friends for roughly 8 years now. We definitely believe we are going to be hand in hand for the rest of our journey through life together and thus is why we are planning this wonderful Europe trip together. Since i started skateboarding Ive always watched videos filmed over seas and have since then wanted to travel the world and it's so wonderful to finally make this a reality. I am ecstatic at the idea of meeting complete strangers, learning their cultures, traditions, and lifestyles. I've always found it so fascinating how people live so differently than one another yet we all live on the same planet. I can't wait to go out and see the other side of the world through my own eyes and make memories of a lifetime!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My girlfriend and I are planning our very first backpack trip to Europe together and this will also be my very first plane ride and visit to Europe. While we were looking for hostels and airbnbs for possible places to stay, we stumbled across this Couch surfing app and decided to try it out!

Interests

I've been skaboarding since I was 12. Practicing patients for the guitar. Enjoy camping and being outdoors anywhere. Love hanging out with friends and meeting new people. Very open-minded and best to stay spontaneous.

Music, Movies, and Books

I honestly haven't read in quite sometime, but I recently picked up a book titled "How to Practice the Way to a Meaningful Life", by Dalai Lama. "1989" by George O'orwell. Enjoy psychological thrillers, mysteries, plot twisters, even kid movies at times, documentaries about earth and it's wonderful creations, any books about the body and it's functions, truly anything educational, etc. Game of Thrones, Atlas World, Into the Wild, Lucy, Interstellar, Back to the Future, Seven Pounds, and Dazed and Confused are just a few of my favorite movies.

Pink floyd, Modest Mouse, Santigold, Frank Sinatra, B.B King, Led Zeppelin, Kaskade, just to name a few.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To me skateboarding is more than just a hobby or sport it is a way of life and lifestyle that brings every race, every ethnicity, every kind of culture together to share one common thing. Those who skateboard understand the love and passion we share for this and it's almost like a universal language. I think it's so beautiful that I've witnessed two people that can hardly communicate do to a language barrier can still share the greatest laughter and happiness through skateboarding. Whether it be through nailing an awesome technical trick or falling on your butt as a beginner we still manage to put a smile on one another's face as a universal way of communicating. This has shown me that by putting aside our differences we can truly get along and live together as a whole, an idea that i am very fond of. I believe in peace and love through humanity as we all share one common interest, pure love and happiness.

I'll teach you all the Spanish you want to know and all about skateboarding, if your willing to put your body through pain! Share with you the knowledge i hold about the great state of Texas and it's wonderful culture along with the Mexican cuisine and traditions. I am also very open minded and very enthusiastic about learning about others cultures, ethnicities, and traditions. Absolutely fascinated of everything this world has to offer and teach!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer one of the greatest interactions with a complete stranger yet open-minded person, quiet at times yet willing to share, young yet so full of life. I'll share where I come from, my ethnicity, and the opportunity to try some Mexican dishes.
