I am a true blue Berliner and love to travel and explore new countries off the beaten tourist tracks. I have taken a year off work and have traveled the world from July 2017 until July 2018. 20 countries visited, 41 in total now, it was truly amazing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A good friend of mine told me once as a kind of life advice: be as broad as the sky. I have always made the experience that when you connect with people locally before or during travels, it enriches your travel experience by so much. No Lonely Planet guide in the world can beat that. Hence I love to connect directly, understand the local habits and customs and certainly avoid mistakes that all travellers make when they enter unchartered territory.

Having worked in the Sharing Economy for the past 4 years, I also believe in opening up and enjoying the benefits of an own apartment/car with other people. Having said this, i understand that trust and conscious treatment of other people's property is the no. 1 prerequisite for sites like couchsurfing to work. Hence, I treat other people's property as if it were my own, e.g. with explicit care and respect for what it means to the owner.
