Overview
About Me
Dear host,
My name is Christian and I am currently traveling Asia and planned to stay in Japan from end of November at least until mid-January.
I grew up near Karlsruhe in southern Germany and studied neuroscience at the University of Heidelberg and University of Glasgow. After my PhD, I now want to see the world :D
I am fluent in German (mother tongue) and English (studied in the UK) and just started studying Japanese for a bit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am fascinated about this country and culture, so I would love to immerse myself deeper into it. I heard that couchsurfing is one of the best ways to do that (some of my friends are couchsurfer too). I have been living in shared flats for most of my life and I am a frequent user of airbnb. So I can guarantee that I am a very easy and uncomplicated guest.
If you have a couch for me, I would love it :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spending a night on the hotel roof during a Tunesian sand storm.
Getting arrested in Lithuania with my mum, for not having the original documents of my car. I will never forget this evening in a cell guarded with kalashnikovs.
Took over my fathers vineyard and made wine and schnapps at home togher with my brother. Though we had to give up after 5 years, it was a great experience.
Worked night shifts in a nuclear power plant.
Spend a year in Glasgow, Scotland, initially with very poor english skills :D
Breaking into an abandoned theme park in Japan at night
Survived 2 weeks in Thailand, Hongkong and Japan without cash (all cards blocked).
Did a 9 day solo road trip through the Australian Outback.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am very enthusiastic about science and languages. So if you are interested in that we could have a lot to talk about.
Watching a movie can be the perfect end of a stressfull day
What I Can Share with Hosts
It is out of question for me that I help out in the house. I like giving back some of the generousity I received as a guest.
I also like cooking and eager to engage in all kind of social activites. After all, that what makes courchsurfing so interesting :D
