ABOUT ME

Ahoy,
I am Chris, 25, originally from Germany, but I would consider the world as my home. I love traveling and immersing myself into different cultures. And of course I love 'immersing' myself into the underwater world since I am studying marine biology.
I would describe myself as a laid-back dude who loves to hear stories about traveling and other exciting topics from all over the world while having an ice cold beer.

I am currently busy conducting fieldwork for my M.Sc. thesis and can't host you guys therefore. As soon as I'm back home, I'd be more than happy to welcome you in my lovely hometown in Germany.

Interests

Believe me, I love playing Ultimate Frisbee. The whole idea & atmosphere of this sport is just incredible.
In the semester breaks I always try to spend as much time as possible on traveling around the world! Since the ocean is my passion, you will most likely find me at some local dive shops or surf board rentals. In order to cure my addiction for the ocean and to stop evolving into a part aquatic, part terrestric organism, I like to spend some time in the mountains, too, enjoying stunning views across the landscape!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm open to every kind of music, movies and books. Still, I would consider the Red Hot Chili Peppers my all time favourite band since they have accompanied me through my whole life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Lived on a remote Cambodian island with just a few other people for 3 months.

- Did a road trip around europe with three friends (one month, slept the whole time in our van, 8900km, 7 countries)

- Stood with one foot in the North Sea and with my other foot in Baltic Sea at the same time.

- Climbed the top of the Sri Pada in Sri Lanka (2243m) during a stormy and rainy night in complete darkness, only equipped with a shitty torch with a range of less than one meter. The most exhausting thing I have ever done. My aim was it to reach the top before sunrise, but it was so foggy, I couldn't see anything at the top.

- Walked behind a waterfall somewhere in the Panamanian jungle (A childhood dream came true!!)

- Been to the southernmost city in the world (Ushuaia) and to the biggest Magellanic penguin colony in the world (Punta Tombo), both located in Argentina

- Became a divemaster
