About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to meet fun and inspiring people!
ABOUT ME
Cheerful, friendly, easy going, and very adventurous!
I am currently completing my Master's thesis in Japan, hoping to explore more of what this amazing country has to offer.
I'm half-Japanese and half-British (please ignore my feeble puns), but born and raised in Canada. Kinda confusing I know, but you'll get it eventually :)
I don't think I can tell you everything about me in this meager text box. Just meet me and you'll learn more about me!
PHILOSOPHY
Live life with the eyes of an innocent child. 8)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CouchSurfed in Montreal and Quebec, and met up for drinks with other couch surfers too. If anyone wants to hang out in Vancouver, don't hesitate to give me a shout!
Interests
Any activity or sport that gets my heart pumping: soccer, tennis, running, cycling, hiking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, squash, tango dancing, skiing etc.
Playing and listening to music (especially live concerts): classical, rock, jazz, pop, R&B...hmm actually I love all genres!
Reading a good book: currently reading travel books by Bill Bryson
Eating and cooking: I may think that I am a better cook than I actually am, but I can say I am a pretty good foodie! I will eat absolutely anything...as long as it's edible haha. Oh and I'm a sucker for peanut butter and coffee...not together obviously
Games: I love all games, word games, board games, bar games, card games (bridge, poker, hearts, cribbage...), vintage video games (N64!), games you created, whatever! I think it's a great way to share laughs and get to know someone.
Exploring: if I see a mountain, I will climb it; if I hear a new language, I will learn it (or at least try); if I see an old building, I will peruse it...you get the idea

Teach, Learn, Share
Teach-
I know a little bit about a lot of things, but I claim not to be an expert at any one thing. I'm a generalist in that sense. Finance, music, food, languages, sports, juggling, whistling, sleeping :), etc. When surfing, I will always be happy to help out around the house. Cleaning, dishwashing, landscaping, cooking, berry picking, lawn-mowing, grocery shopping, tv watching :), you name it, I am in your debt.
Learn-
I am willing to learn absolutely anything! Knowledge is power! (while you're at it, maybe you could teach me how to avoid cliches and tell me to start...thinking outside the box heh) hmm..humour might need some help too
There's a massive list of skills I want to learn! how to play the guitar, walk on my hands, fence, dance, learn more languages (this summer I want to improve on my French), cook, play volleyball properly and not just shuffle my feet so as to appear like I know what I'm doing...and list goes on.
Share-
If we struggle to exchange any skills, it really doesn't matter to me. Unfortunately, people often tie their skills to their self-worth. In my opinion, just having a pleasant conversation and telling a good story or two over coffee/drink is enough to make me happy :)
