Resumen
Sobre mí
CURRENT MISSION
To meet down-to-earth people and see some some amazing places.
ABOUT ME
It's hard to put myself into a small little box. I love learning new things. Einstein said it perfectly, "Once you stop learning, you start dying."
I studied psychology and human development at university, which I still enjoy. This past year I have worked in a supportive role at a Title 1 elementary school. I love working with kids, however, I also have a new passion for plant-based nutrition. I love to bake healthy treats and enjoy volunteering and reading, especially about women's rights and international development. I also recently ran my first 5K (with no prior practice), so maybe I'll get into running.
My husband Nate and I have been married since May 2012. After living and teaching English in Mexico for three months, we are looking for find a home base to explore the world. (We are leaning towards North Carolina right now.) We enjoy hiking, watching documentaries, warm weather (especially at beautiful beaches).
Nate studied biology and chemistry at university and worked at a lab that tests medical devices for 3 and 1/2 years. He enjoys science, but now he is focusing on his long-held dream of writing a sci-fi/fantasy book.
That's a little about us. :)
PHILOSOPHY
I don't think I could fit my personal philosophy into this box. One thing I strongly believe in is the Golden Rule (treat others like you want to be treated). I also believe in leaving things (and people) better than you found them. When I learn something new I really try to live it. (I don't like the feeling of cognitive dissonance.)
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are living with Nate's dad right now, so we aren't able to host couchsurfers. When we have our own place we'd be happy to host, but for right now we'll be looking for couchsurfing opportunities.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
This is our first time couchsurfing. Sounds like a great way to meet new people and hear the low-down on an area from the locals.
