ABOUT ME

I am an international student, currently studying at UWGB in Green Bay, WI. After my one semester abroad I would like to use my grace period to experience more of the US. My current plan is to do a road trip, going from Milwaukee to New Orleans to Atlanta and then to the East Coast, including at least Washington D.C., Philadelphia and NYC. I would love to use couchsurfing as much as possible in order to meet new people, especially locals that can recommend me some cool places in their city.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I am living on campus since December 2013 and then travel around the US, I will only participate by surfing other's couches. But by doing this, I will share as much of my personality and experience as I can in order to enrich my host's experience as much as I can!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I have surfed four couches, in Milwaukee, New Orleans, Atlanta and Philadelphia and all those experiences were amazing. However, they were very different and I do enjoy diversity a lot. Although I did not have any references before, all hosts accepted me fast and made my stay in those cities better than it could ever be travelling as a real tourist. I appreciated it a lot and I do not think that I will ever prefer another way of travelling over couchsurfing if there are available places at my destination.

Interests

I am interested in all kinds of sports, in culture, especially in music and I like both sightseeing and experiencing the modern culture of a city, especially if it is influenced by young and independent people living a modern or alternative lifestyle. Additionally, I always would like to experience the different cuisines of the cities I visit and the difference nightlives. I am pretty flexible and can talk a lot, if people would like to communicate with me, but I can also be only a calm sleeping guest spending the entire day out in the city.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Indie/Folk Music. I like German hiphop/rap especially Deichkind, old skool stuff and shaban und käptn Peng. I love techno and electronic music to party although i do not know and favor a lot of particular bands or artists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most recent one: Being on a Packers Game when it was 8°F and I was freezing like a little naked baby but we could cheer the Packers to the first win since Aaron Rodgers was injured.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to teach and learn the four languages I know well or not so well. I love cooking and love to learn more about it but I can always teach some basics. I am an analytically thinking person.
But first of all, I would be very happy to learn about the home city of my host and in exchange I would be happy to teach something about Germany and the German culture and people.
