About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travelling around the world and finding my 2nd paradise
ABOUT ME
Travel is my passion. Not only that I studied and work in tourism, I also love it to explore other countries and cultures. Usually when I am employed I use every holiday I could get for going abroad and visit many interesting places like Suriname, Nicaragua or nearly all of the Eastern Caribbean Islands. In 2014 I quit my job to travel around the world for a year and had amazing experiences and made great friends - also due to couchsurfing. I could even imagine doing another RTW trip in a few years. ;-)
However during my trip I also realized that the tropics is the place where I want to live. This is why the Caribbean became my second home. Before my one years travel I already lived in Grenada for 3 years. In 2015 I found a new job, adventure and home in the Dominican Republic.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As a traveller I am sure I can participate as being a good and easy-going guest, by providing my travel experiences about places I have already visited and by having just a good time with my hosts. If I am requesting to be hosted I definately have time to share with my host - but it's also ok if I am on my own if my host has to work, study etc.
As a host I can offer an apartment to live, show interesting places in Santo Domingo (if I have time, pretty busy usually) and share my experiences, knowledge and ways of thinking. As I said I am really easy-going and get along quite well with many people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Grenada - my home base for 3 years is still beating in my heart
Furtermore some random memorable travel experiences: campervan tour through Canada, jetting through Europe with Ryanair's 1€-fares, visiting Las Vegas, heading down Highway No. 1 in California, skiing in the Rocky Mountains, watching world-cup games in Croatia and Bosnia, climbing Mount Rinjani in Indonesia, travelling Timor-Leste, being a couple of days in the backcountry of Suriname, trying (and failing) to climb Huayna Potosi (6.088 meters), crossing the border from Bolivia to Paraguay on the river without border posts,
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
- how to make one of the best Caribbean cocktails: a Grenadian rum punch (if all the ingredients are available, if not a classical Rum & Coke does his job)
- German (culture, habits, language)
- about Caribbean life
Learn:
- culture, habits, food and language of the country I am visiting respectively of those countries I might have a guest of
- about activities I have never done, new ways of thinking, everything else I don't know
Share:
- a lot of unique travel experiences and a little bit of insight into the German way of living (and thinking)
