Hi! I'm Christin, a born-and-raised New Yorker.

I'm on a gap year from university, hoping to take some time to learn more about myself and the world! The last time I traveled abroad was nearly 5 years ago, for a high school robotics competition in China. As this is my first time solo-traveling, the last few months couldn't have been more exhilarating!

I started off with 3 months in Japan back in December (mostly in Tokyo, Kansai, Shikoku). From there, I spent a month in Korea (Seoul, Cheongyang, Busan) and then two months in Taiwan (Taipei, Yilan, Hualien, Kaohsiung, Taichung). Now I'm back in Japan before I make my way back home!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of my favorite parts of traveling is meeting people and learning about their unique experiences and perspectives on life! I like sightseeing to a certain extent, but would love even more to hear from locals about their favorite spots and any hidden gems.

I hitchhiked 5 hours from a farm in Shikoku to my first couchsurfing experience in Osaka!
