About Me
I'm just about to turn 30 and decided to go on another big adventure.
For the past 5years I have lived in Birmingham, UK, and worked what felt like everyday. This is why I have now decided things need to change and I want to go travelling again. Me and my best friend have booked our flights, told our families and are now ready to discover New Zealand.
For my past:
I have ever since I can remember loved tourism and travelling. Meeting other cultures and learning different things.
I travelled a lot with my parents in the past, which allowed me to go to crazy places as a kid and this doesn't stop now.
In 2006 I went for 9 weeks volunteering in Guatemala. One of the most beautiful places I have ever had the pleasure visiting.
The same year I started my tourism studies. During those I worked in Spain for some time at a camp site. I met fantastic people from all around Europe. Great times.
After my studies I went to Florida, USA to work for Mickey. I have been a Cultural Representative for Germany at Epcot, Disney World.
In 2010 I moved to the UK. I did my Masters in Tourism Destination Management. Ever since I shared a lovely house with 5 other people. So I know how to live with others ;) I enjoy a mix of different cultures and a variety of characters,
So in general... I'm a nice girl. I love travelling and meeting new people. my philosophy: Travelling broadens the mind.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I haven't done couch surfing yet. But I can't wait to try it out.
I have heard a lot of good things about CS and a lot of my friends had very good experiences with it.
I want to try it because I am sick of overpriced hotels and just seeing the super touristy places. I want to get to know NZ from it's people. I'm looking forward to sharing stories with like-minded people and meet new friends.
Interests
travelling - beaches, forests, cities, mountains, ... I take it all. I want to as much as I can.
movies - I worked in a cinema for over 4 years. The best thing about it was free movies. funny, sad, entertaining, from period drama to action film. I find something good in most of them and I'm happy to debate with you about it.
TV shows- working with so many geeky people in the cinema got me into a lot of things. From comic book stuff (agents of shield, arrow, flash,...) to drama series (grey's, how to get away with murder, homeland, ...) I can't get enough of it.
learning new things - may it be cooking, riding learning languages. I love to try out something new.

Music, Movies, and Books
oh my... there are too many.
But I can tell you I am so addicted to the world of Game of Thrones. I have read all the books and watched the show. If you let me I will talk all day about it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
staying in the rain forest in Guatemala.
It was a little hostel right by a river. The energy only worked for 2h a day. We went caving with candles in our hands and on our way back we tubed down the river. It was away from civilisation, with some good friends and lots of laughter.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you German and all about our culture. I'm more than happy to talk about my experiences and tell you all you want to know.
In exchange, if you could share your world with me. Show me around your area and show me the nice places off the beaten track.
What I Can Share with Hosts
- stories about strange places
- I can cook! I can make food for you.
- Talk about the geekiest stuff.
