About Me

Hi everyone, my name is Christina and I am a master's student at the University of Graz in the field of Education. In fall I am going to start teaching English at the university and I am super excited about it. I love reading and traveling, so I would consider myself an open-minded and curious cosmopolitan. Besides working at the university I am also an advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights as I am a part of the queer department of the Austrian student union at my university (we organize get-togethers, podium discussions and demonstrations - everything to help educate people and advocate for our community).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have already hosted guests via Airbnb so I am accustomed to the idea of meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. I simply love getting to know interesting personalities that are willing to share a little bit of their lifestory with me. The concept of helping each other out and making traveling an enormous pile of fantastic memories, sounds just about right to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am almost ashamed to say this, but besides my love for English classics I love reading a good vampire story...
Generally I listen to anything that catches my current mood. From metal to jazz to dnb and edm, I can listen to almost anything and find something enjoyable. For studying I only listen to classical music though.
Since I don't really watch movies, I can only comment on some of the greatest shows ever produced: Peaky Blinders, Friends, Brooklyn 99, Modern Family, Downton Abbey, Gossip Girl...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That's a tough one. I guess I am really proud of what I have already achieved in my 25 years of being on this planet. Being a very driven and hard-working person has helped me reach my goals so far.
I guess having participated in 2 school exchanges (France [14 years old] & Belgium [16 years old]) and 1 exchange at university (Indianapolis [21 years old]) has opened my eyes on so many levels. I think it is extremely valuable to send young humans out into the world to explore new places, meet new people and simply connect on a different level.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I am a trained educator, I think I have the personality traits (patience, reliability, courage) to teach someone almost anything; My subject areas though are English, German and History. Books are at the heart of my life so sharing moving stories and great novels is a passion of mine.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very tidy, reliable and friendly. If someone tells me to respect boundaries then I am the last person who will disrespect them. I love animals (especially dogs) and spending time with as crazy (in a good way) humans as I am one. I can't wait to make new connections! :)
