Overview
About Me
About me, hmm well I grew up and went to school in California graduating with my degree in Sport Management back in 2014. My love for rugby drew me to New Zealand and shortly after graduating I moved here. I have been spending my time traveling around and working as an au pair. I look after two adorable little kiwi boys ages 2 and 4 who make me laugh all the time. My favorite thing in the world is laughing. I love to laugh and love to surround myself with wonderful people with a good sense of humor.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have been traveling around New Zealand for a while mostly staying at hostels or camp grounds and it occurred to me that I really would love to meet more locals so I figured couch surfing would be a good way of doing that. Seeing a country is only half of experiencing it. The other half is getting a new perspective on life from the people who live there. Plus, the locals usually know the coolest spots in town and I love meeting new people!
Interests
I love hiking, camping, horse back riding, bike riding, playing rugby, waterfall jumping building sandcastles, basically anything outdoors. I am also an excellent baker and enjoy whipping up a batch of cookies or fresh apple pie while dancing in the kitchen listening to my favorite music. Which is anything from Frank Sinatra, to George Straight to the Spice Girls. If I have the time, I like to sit down and doodle in my sketch book or read. But most of all I love hanging out with family and friends sipping on a delicious glass of whisky or a cold beer.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Favorite book of all time is Dinotopia! The Chronicles of Narnia, The Hunger Games, autobiographies about anyone
Music: Just about anything. If I can dance to it or sing to it, I probably like it. But my favorite has always been and will always be Frank Sinatra.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I helped build a house for a family in Mexico. Extremely rewarding experience, lots of work and loads of fun!
Teach, Learn, Share
Well sports are basically my life. I learn, teach and share through sports. In January 2016 I am moving to Uganda to work with a sport development program called Gainline Africa which uses rugby to help empower youth and rehabilitate post war communities. I always love learning and that's part of why I love traveling; it is the best way to learn! As far as teaching goes I guess I have learned a few life lessons to share with people: Never pick your nose on a roller coaster; never put all your cupcakes in a corner; always pack sunscreen.
