I'm a very active 60 year old who loves to travel and explore other cultures. My kids are all grown and flown, so I've got more time on my hands. I do a lot of volunteering with various organizations (cuddle babies in the hospital, walk dogs at the shelter, work at homeless shelters, work for Team Rubicon, a disaster relief organization, etc.). My husband and I lived abroad for about 10 years (Turkey, Senegal and Germany) for his work with the government, and now we live in Seattle. We've got stories to tell. We're vaccinated, neat and quiet, but also fun (as long as we're in bed by 10pm lol). We love to explore new places and meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm Couchsurfing because I'm trying to simplify my life and be less of a consumer. I like to explore new places and meet new people, so figured this would be a good way to do it. It's so much better to have a contact locally when you go somewhere, and paying $$ for a bed for the night, drives me crazy. We love to share what we have with others, and really enjoy hosting people from other countries and showing them around Seattle. We also love to stay with locals ourselves when we travel, and so we like to give back to others and make their visits fun and easy.

Music, Movies, and Books

I usually forget movies after I watch them and books after I read them, but do like to do both, watch movies and read books! LOL I like country, folk, african, indy pop and most other music, but am not a huge fan of most heavy metal and some rap.

Traveled to over 40 countries. Lived in Turkey, Senegal and Germany, each place for 2-3 years.
