I am a doctoral student in the Curriculum, Instruction, and Teacher Education program at Michigan State University. My explorations exist within the ever-curious waters of multi/translanguaging and literacies. Currently, I am partnering with members of the refugee/newcomer community in Metro Detroit to magnify an asset-based perspective of their identities, languages, and literacies.

When I’m not living in the teaching world, I am deeply invested in my personal relationships, particularly with my friend-family, some of which I live communally with in southeast Detroit--including my partner, Ben, and our communal Maine Coon cat, Cesar. I've lived communally for almost a decade, an experience that has fed me mind, body and spirit.

I take great pleasure in cooking, particularly for others, escaping in graphic novel or fantasy/sci-fi story, writing (although that sometimes feels more like work than an escape), running, and yoga. As a commuter, I also love podcasts and audiobooks.
