About Me
Well as you can probably read, my name's Christina and I am a professional dragon fighter and venomous, fire-tailed fox breeder. Just kiddinggg, although if I could have those jobs, I'd be the happiest person in the world.
Really though, my day to day life is a bit more boring. I'm a college (university, for Europeans) student at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. I'm in my second year and I am double majoring in International Studies and Asian Studies. My ultimate goal down the road is to either be a US Ambassador to China or run away and become a tattoo artist in a little shack that also serves super trendy lattes.
I have dual citizenship with the US and Germany, however I'm usually ashamed to tell people that just because my German is very, very rusty. I grew up speaking it but unfortunately lost a lot when my family moved around.
Now, when I say that my DAY TO DAY life is pretty boring, I really mean it. And for that I'm super thankful. It gives me more motivation to really go out and try to experience new things to live life to the fullest. I have been very fortunate to see a lot of the world at a very young age. My family moves to a new country usually every three to four years so I have been able to see so many things I otherwise would not have had the opportunity to see. After a certain point though, I realized I would move away from my family and it was up to me to keep on exploring. So whenever I have the time, the means, and (of course) the money, I try to go somewhere I've never been before. Because of this, I no longer really have a "home" anymore - not that I'm upset about that or anything. So I like to say I'm from everywhere instead of one specific place.
I also have two siblings, a brother and a sister, who absolutely hate traveling so it pretty much evens out.
I speak Mandarin semi-fluently and can fool people into thinking I'm Chinese. That's probably my biggest talent to date. I've been studying it for 5-6 years and I used to live in Beijing with a host family.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I've met some really interesting people in other countries who have done it before and, from what I've heard, it seems to be THE best way to meet locals and/or new people who really know the lay of the land instead of just partying at a hostel (which can be fun too).
Although I would love to meet people by hosting as well, it's very difficult to do in college because I stay in a dorm. Once I get a house, those things will definitely change. For right now, I'm on couchsurfing to meet and stay with new, interesting people when I travel. My profile says I've been a member since 2014 but it's really more like 2015 just because I haven't been active on here.
Interests
FOOD. I love food.
That's it. That's all I like.
Just kidding. Kind of... In any case I do have quite a lot of interests. I love dancing, playing soccer, working out, hanging out with friends, Mandarin and Chinese culture, other languages and other cultures as well of course, drawing, watching youtube videos for hours on end instead of doing homework, I love swimming in the ocean and just oceans in general, and, of course (again), foooooood. I'm sure there's a lot more I'm not thinking of right now but I'll be sure to write them down when I do remember.

Music, Movies, and Books
I LOVE SPANISH/LATINO MUSIC. Which is kind of funny because I can't speak Spanish at all. I want to learn though. For now however, I just love Spanish/Latino music and dancing to it.
I also love all different types of music. Chances are if I stop talking while the song's on, I like it. Chances also are that if I start singing along in a shrieking, singing voice, I like it.
I like comedy movies a lot, but again I'm not picky. I think the list is too long for me to say all the movies I like.
I love historical and historical fiction novels. One great one is The Poisonwood Bible. That's not so much historical fiction but it's still good. I love reading to be honest. If it sucks me in, then that's definitely a good thing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I rode an ostrich once. That was a wild ride.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English, Mandarin, how to tie your shoelaces (it can be difficult sometimes), how to act like a typical American in a country they have no idea about, how to pretend to dance when you really have no idea what you're doing, and how to pretend to be funny.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my questionable humor and everything listed above. Not gonna lie, I'm not sure what I really have to offer, but I've been told my company is quite fun so hopefully you'll enjoy spending time with me! :)
