ABOUT ME

I like people and life. I like to get to know people, find new friends, I am sometimes funny, but also sometimes rather contemplative and restrained. It's difficult to describe oneself... I like languages, music, philosophy, and traveling. I can talk for hours, if the atmosphere is alike. But I'm also independent and can be on my own for quite a time. I think, I'm a good companion.

PHILOSOPHY

I tend to let everything just be, I don't believe in changing the world, just myself!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have once traveled with couchsurfing to Lisbon and to Cuba, that was really great! Then regretfully I wasn't able to travel or host somebody for a a long time. Now I've moved and can do at last first steps with hosting. I really like getting to know people and exchange with them.

Interests

I'm a music addicted person, I like collecting all kinds of different music styles like world music, Balkan, Russian Retro, Rock, Blues, Soul, Jazz, Alternative Country, Britpop etc. I might have quite oldfashioned preferences, but I like almost everything besides techno. Recently I renewed my former abilities to play classical guitar, it's so hard, but beautiful!

Music, Movies, and Books

There is a lot of! I dont know, I read so many books, iit depends on the subject, one is talking of, then I remember, which one was good or not so interesting.
For Films its almost the same, I like very much film noir and especially Humphrey Bogart, when I was 25 I liked Harry and Sally.
Then I was very much into detective serials like Tatort, then into Bollywood films, Sharukh Khan is really very smart:-)
I like german arthaus films, I cannot stand french cinema at all, they're always beating women or treat them bad. But my favourite french film was also like that and, nevertheless, I liked it: It's called The au harem d'Archimede. Really moving!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

taking part in everyday life in Russia after the fall of the soviet empire CRAZY
sleeping under the stars in the Provence (France) BEAUTIFUL
hearing (completely accidentially) the mighty sound of an historical organ in the cathedral of Florence, Italy WOW!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach many things, I am a professional furniture restaurator, I know languages and I would like to learn more languages from other people, I could offer some tandem-exchange.
