ABOUT ME

While writing this I am sitting in a quaint coffee shop in Budapest where more people are drinking beer and palinka than coffee- I love it! I grew up in small community between the towns of North Pole and Fairbanks in the interior of Alaska. I started traveling at the young age of 13 at the insistance of my mother- she basically forced me to go to Spain on a school trip! (Oh darn, right?) As much as I love seeing the world, I also very much enjoy spending time at home, where I participate in as many dance schools and studios as I can. I began performing in dance at the age of 3 and will never stop, I just take short breaks every now and then. At home when it's too cold to hike up mountains or cross country ski, I like to organize random theme/costume parties. For college I stayed in Alaska to earn by Bachelor's degree; since then I've "moved" to Hungary to earn my Master's. It's an exciting experience and I have learned so much from the culture in Budapest. I feel that I am easy to get along with, I'm in no way high maintenance, and I'm hoping by couch surfing I can meet even more interesting people around the world!

PHILOSOPHY

As a philosphy student, having a "personal philosophy" never makes sense to me. However, I live my life according to goals, but always allow for changes according to my heart's desires and the advice of others.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I signed up with couchsurfing maybe two years ago, but I have yet to take advantage of it! I'm hoping within this last year of going to school in Budapest I'll be able to spend some weekends out and about, meeting people and absorbing as much of European life as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I work in tourism during the summers in Alaska, and have hosted many people from places as diverse as Arizona and Wales. However, this had nothing to do with Couchsurfing.org, so it's about time I get on it and reach out to more people!

Interests

I know it's cliche, but I love meeting people! I love finding fun ways to bond with strangers, especially if it includes wine and dancing. I like to spend hours in art galleries, and finding places to listen to live music is always a treat. When I'm alone I usually have my nose stuck in a book. I like to read up on "last night's episode of such-and-such on tv" but I don't actually watch tv. I could spend hours at a time in a coffee shop all by myself, but I like it best when someone is there with me. I love going to school; eventually I'll have to get a job and become a part of the "real world" but until then I'm going to keep doing what I know best and be a student for as long as I can!
