ME

I was born a traveller. First steps in Florida, since moved to England but explored lots of the world because of my hippy dippy, travel bug momma :) very much a people person, laid back, low maintenance and quite happy to entertain myself! I tend to wander off exploring but would love it if you wanted to show me round a bit too :) or just sit in, chat, eat good food and laugh :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found out about couchsurfing from my Canadian flatmate who went all over Europe doing it when she studied over here. She swore it was better than hostelling and in awe of her and her travels I thought I would give it a go and meet some fantastic people around the world! I would also like to experience places through a local view as opposed to being a tourist :')

Now as I am experiencing couchsurfing on my journey around the world I have found out it is awesome for myself! Had such amazing hosts so far, I can't wait to meet more people :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, especially folky bands and quirky artists..Mystery Jets, Boy&Bear and Passenger are my favourites at the moment :)

Movies; Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, Shawshank and Green Mile (even though they make me sob uncontrollably), War Horse, any prison films/documentaries, other documentaries..

Books: Harry Potter series, To Kill a Mockingbird, A Thousand Splendid Sons, Kite Runner, memoirs and autobiographies..anything un-putdownable!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In summer 2013 I decided to leave the UK and work on an adult disabled camp in New Jersey with the Camp America programme. Four months of long days, sleepless nights and hard graft it was one of the most intense and demanding things I have done but it was also the most rewarding and amazing experience I have ever had and I am truly grateful to have been part of it! I made so many friends in my time there and some of the characters I cared for will never leave my heart.

It has since opened my eyes to working abroad in the future and experiencing even more cultures and countries.
