ABOUT ME

Ahh, I hate doing these self-descriptions! I grew up around the midwest, moved to New York for school, now I'm in Madrid for the semester, so I'm way excited to explore Europe/wherever else I decide to go. I tend to be kind of shy when first getting to know people, but in general I'm a mix between being a goofball and being sarcastic. Although I've been kind of lax here I'm pretty athletic back in the states, although I'm still recovering from a slightly crazy injury. Also, I don't know if I could live without laughter or coffee.If you're interested here's my main tumblr.. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just joined CouchSurfing after hearing a lot of friends talk about it. I've amazing experiences in both Barcelona and Madrid, and really appreciate getting to know cities via people who live there!

I'm a HUGE bookworm, so I'm not sure I can really list all the books I'm into. I am, however, a fan of Vonnegut, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Ray Bradbury, e.e. cummings, Dorothy Parker.. just to name a few.

Music: Constantly changing. Right now I'm way into The National, New Pornographers, Arcade Fire, Kanye West (yep), Animal Collective, Vampire Weekend, MGMT, The Decemberists, Tegan and Sara, Of Montreal, and I might be able to rap some Nicki Minaj so I guess I'm kind of into her?

Movies: In The Loop is my favorite movie of all time. I also like Syriana, Apocalypse Now, The Princess Bride, Mean Girls, Clueless, and Billy Madison.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

My entire trip in Europe. I did shots with pilgrims in Santiago de Compostela, slept under the stars in Barcelona, debated government systems and religions with students in Morocco, talked to people late at night in Roman ruins in multiple cities, and I've even gone through the ritual mugging in Napoli! So yeah, it'll be difficult to one-up any of that.

Want to learn how to be on crutches for a year while working full time? Or want to learn how to swim? Then I'm probably your girl. I also know lots of random historical and political facts, although my knowledge of politics is mainly U.S. based.

On a related note, if you want to teach me anything about the politics/history of your city/country/whatever, I'm always down for listening.
