I am someone who loves to have fun and does not hesitate when offered an adventure. I love languages and cultures and trying new foods. I am the kind of person that will try anything once. My friends describe me as someone who is calm and funny but I've been known to dance anywhere if there is music. I want to experience the world as much as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I tell my stories, I listen, I share my thoughts and feelings, I share my language and my skills. I share my couch and my food [I cook!].

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have known about Couchsurfing for a few years but this is the first time I have made a profile. I am nervous but really excited to try it. I think the idea of Couchsurfing is amazing because it allows its members to make people to people connections on the most basic level. This is how the world should work, beyond the different cultures and languages we are all just people.

Interests

Volleyball - I have played since I was a child and I have serious cravings when I am without it for extended periods of time.

DANCING - I love dancing whether it be at a club, in a class or anywhere!

Music - I take my iPod everywhere and I cannot survive without music, I am always looking for recommendations and new music!

Languages - I love love learning languages. I learned Spanish for 8 years, Mandarin for 3 years and I am also self studying Korean.

Poetry - I used to write alot of poetry when I was younger but I still enjoy a good poem.

Food - I am a foodie at heart and always want to try new and delicious foods. Where ever I go I have to try the food.

Shoes - I like sneakers and have collected quite a few pairs over the years.

Traveling - When I travel I want to see the world through two lenses: as a traveler and as a local. I think that is the only way you get the full experience of being somewhere else and engaging in another culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like action and psychological movies, international movies as well, they get crazy! I used to love scary movies when I was younger but ever since high school I can't watch them anymore, I am too wimpy.

I will read any book if it's good and I read everyday. I particularly like adventure books, and fantasy books and I have enjoyed a good mystery but I find that I am pretty good at cracking the mystery before the end of the book.

I can't pinpoint my favorite genre of music because I am always looking for new songs, genres, etc so pretty much anything that I can dance to. My iPod has thousands of sounds and many different genres including R&B, Electronic, Dance, Hip Hop, Mandopop, Brazilian, Kpop, Classical, Jazz, Alternative, Rock, Indie, Trip Hop and many more. I love finding new music and am always looking for recommendations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw the president of the United States in person which was pretty amazing. I walked across the US - Mexico border as a child which was quite an experience. I have been to almost every continent [just have two left!]

Teach, Learn, Share

I am someone that likes to help others and connect with people. I love teaching people new dance moves, sometimes a little Spanish or Chinese. I love to share stories about my complicated life and about growing up in California/USA!
