About Me

Hi
My name is Christina and I am from Denmark. I love learning and I love traveling and trying new things! I enjoy movies, books, art, sports, challenges and good old fashioned danish "hygge"!... I don't want to miss a single thing in life. Currently I am living in Copenhagen with my girlfriend Nina and we would love to meet some travellers :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I loooove meeting people! Preferably interesting and fun people - and that is what I found an extreme amount of on couchsurfing. I like the mutual trust and openness that arises when people with the same mentality for exploration meet and I have only had good experiences with couchsurfing so far :)

I have surfed a couple of times and every time has been amazing: first time was in Tasmania (I was fortunate enough to repay the favor and host my former host when she visited Denmark a year later). The second time was in Stuttgart before I moved there and my couchsurferhost turned out to become my roommate for 5 months (talk about luck!)... and then there was a wonderful trip to Switzerland where I couchsurfed both in Lausanne and Zürich.

I also use couchsurfing to go to events and meetings and get a feel of the local scene. I met up with a lovely girl (Lenka) in Prague in 2012 to hear about Czech republic from a local perspective and to have someone to drink a good czech beer with ;) ... having gained the experience of how welcome I felt in Prague because of this I did the same for an Australian couchsurfer in winter in Denmark (and there you really need beer!)

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Harry Potter, the golden compass, the boy who harnessed the wind, The Cry of the Icemark, The shadow of the Wind, a short story of nearly everything and Biografies of all kinds

Movies: fried green tomatoes, The Matrix, V for Vendetta, The help, black swan, inception, disney, dragonfly, half light .. movies that mess with your mind in general ... aaaand guilty pleasure: mean girls

Music: I like almost all kinds of music and love discovering new artists. I am also a frequent concert-goer :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Since 2015 I have been part of a crew of 60 people sailing the worlds's biggest reconstruction of a Viking ship (The Seastallion). Sleeping tangled up with my crew members looking at the stars from the open deck and freezing as the waves splash over the railing really gives a sense of awe for the sea, its power and its vastness - and for my ancestors who once took the same trip!

In 2013 I lived for 6 months in Sydney, Australia. The stay was an amazing experience where I learned so much about myself and learned to build a new place to call "home" from the beginning :)

In 2011 I did an Ironman distance triathlon in Copenhagen. That is my biggest achievement in sports (but I normally do not do sports - it was a challenge). Otherwise it is some of my travels and day to day stuff that only seem special to me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share an insight in a small, lovely, beautiful country called Denmark. I can show you local food, wonderful nature in deep green forests with old castles. Tell you about danish Hygge (very important haha) and show you the danish people's way of life. I would like to learn almost everything. But what I am searching is insight in other cultures outside the normal tourist way of doing so ;)
