I have been travelling for around 5 years now, spending part of my year at home and part of it exploring. Mostly I housesit. I have met some fabulous people and animals following this way of life and have travelled around the world, although it is a great big world and I admit, reluctantly, that I will never see it all.
I am very much at home with mother nature and her creatures; I have studied dog psychology and natural horsemanship and, until recently, never been without both of these wonderful creatures in my life.
I have studied reiki and practised mostly on animals who accept what little I can give until they walk away because they have what they need.
I am an allotment gardener growing, eating and preserving my own produce. I love to cook and drink good wine or a good gin and do so for and with people I love or am getting to know
I love to walk, especially with a dog at my heels, and to explore whichever part of the world I find myself enjoying. Last year was mainly Europe - Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia and Denmark as well as my own beloved land of England. Then California for a housesit and in 2018 Sri Lanka to start and more of Europe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been a member for a year or so now. However, I live in a small village with poor connections to anywhere of interest to a traveller of visitor to my country. So I thought I would try to find like minded people near where I will already be travelling. One of my houseowners (Slovenia) as well as needing a housesitter is on Coachsurfers and also AirBnB and told me of all the fascinating people she had met. It has renewed my interest in the site and the possibilities of meeting new friends while travelling.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a tefl qualified English teacher. I know about animals and how to train them if there are problems. I can turn my hand to most things (this comes from raising two boys whilst nursing a disabled husband for over 10 years).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some fabulous stories. I laugh a lot and like to make people do the same. I am interesting company. I am an early riser and happy to occupy myself most of the time. I am clean, tidy and honest and will always look for a way in which to be useful and helpful.
