About Me

Hello! My name is Christine Stephanie Gomez ! I am a recent Environmental Engineering graduate from Canada (southern Ontario). I was born in Canada to Colombian parents so I am a native English speaker and grew up speaking spanish in the house. I will be travelling after graduation to Colombia and then to Portugal and Spain. If I could describe myself in three words it would be: vivacious, determined, and adventurous.

I am relatively new to couchsurfing but I really want to be part of this community!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurf to find housing for my travels, as well as to meet adventure buddies! The idea of being genuinely immersed in the culture appeals to me. I crave a unique experience and I believe that meeting locals from my visits can provide me with that experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is very broad. I grew up playing and singing classical music, so classical music holds a special place in my heart. Given my Colombian heritage, I enjoy listening and dancing (not very well) to salsa. I enjoy folk, indie folk, indie rock, and Psychedelic rock Some of my current favourite artists include: Fleet foxes, Tame impala, Arctic monkeys, Father John Misty, Santana, Joni Mitchell, and Chopin.

I dont read as often as I should! I am currently reading Gabriel Garcia-Marquez " The General and his labyrinth ". The last 3 books I completely read for pleasure ( not for school) include: the Old man and the sea, 1984, the Count of Monte Cristo. I am always looking for recommendations!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing place Ive seen in my life so far is Machu Pichu, and the most thrilling/amazing thing I've done is either tandem Skydiving in Cuba or downhill mountain biking in Whistler ( British Columbia,Canada)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach piano! I am currently learning German, so I would appreciate any German lessons.
